Birthday Trip - Ala MadSnapper

I decided I deserved to SEE the World for my birthday trip. I popped up on to 34th Street, NY, NY and no Miracle or Santa in sight..

I went to San Francisco, but got car sick on the streets,  SOOOOO I popped into Paris, on the Quai de l'Hotel de ville   PARIS France to those of you who don't know it....

To snap all these wonderful photos, I used Snip It.... you will have this in your computer if you have Windows 7.

They have the most wonderful old homes and cute little tiny cars... I took so many photos I can't share them all.

If you are feeling a tad envious, here is how You Can Do It To..... and it is FREE, the advice AND the trip

Pull up Google.com, look under the tabs and find Maps, type in Paris France, Or Eiffel Tower. See the red arrow above, see the little man? drage him to the red arrow and Voila, Google earth will bring up the streets.

To drive up and down the streets, click on the white arrow (above photo shows with pink arrow pointing) and you can go up and down and round and round and visit any where you want to go. this is called Travel By Google Earth satellite...I loved it and do love it but
.
North Korea does NOT like this at all.

How cool is this?! What a fun thing to do - and the next best thing to being there! Hope you had a happy day!

We call it street view and it is a great tool. When you are searching for a house and you check it out on street view before you leave home it makes it easier as you know what you are looking for visually. If all that makes sense.

Those are cool photos.
We like the street view feature on Google Earth. We have used it alot. In fact one of Googles' cars was in our town last month taking photos for GE street view.

Firstly, it will cost me something as I'll have to go buy a PC. Secondly, why did you skip Chicago? You would have found a "miracle"--the Miracle Mile (Michigan Ave.) to be exact. AND, I would have treated you to lunch. Oh well, maybe next year?

Best,
Bonnie

WOW! WOW! WOW! Will certainly try for this. It's so much better than just to old live web cams!

But since I'm on a Mac, I don't use Windows. But... Hey... I can try!!!

Super, super, super suggestion. Thank you! For your "My Birthday Gift" to us. :-)

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

Sandra, you are something else. I love how your mind works and how you teach us to use the computer apps.
When life calms down a bit I will have to try this.
I see that Stacy Dawn is back posting again but I can no longer get into her posts. It says not available. Perhaps you can suggest to her that I would like to see her blog again.
Thanks.

Thanks for taking us along with you on your birthday trip. I knew this could be done using Google, but haven't taken the time to actually do it. I may need to change that.

Mac have their way to do this too. How grand that you can visit. But you will not get the smells or noises that come with actual standing in the street. That might be an advantage depending on what you like.

I have times when I spend way tooo much time on Google Earth...I so love it. See some wonderful photos that way...do you look at them. I do that more than clicking on the arrows...but, last year when my older daughter moved to Los Angeles, I used the street view to see where she lived and worked.

Wow! All new to me. You find and master the neatest technologies.

I've done this with a few places. Once I went looking this way for one friend's house, and his car was parked in the yard in front of his house... The illusion ended when I could not walk up the garden path and actually knock on the door...

It's a little bit like being a voyeur, isn't it? Great photos! Thanks for taking us on your birthday trip. I like using this feature before I go somewhere new. The little man can turn once you're in front of the address you want and sometimes you can do a 360 around the whole thing! Way too cool.
