Ferns in the Sunlight

This is National Police Week, there have been 21,465 deaths of officers in the line of duty, since 1791.

Above is the front page of the Virtual Officer Down Memorial Page with all officers listed by name and by state.

Under The Officers Tab you will find this page and can search by state and city.
God bless our officers and keep them safe.....

Very nice fern pics. Both John and his dad were officers. Mr. Nalley was shot on two different occasions during his lifelong career. God bless all the officers and their families.

That last shot is very cool. We like how you can see the little dots so clearly.

Beautiful! And look at all those spores pockets (or whatever they're called). There should be no shortage of ferns!

God bless our police force. And may they never invade without a search warrant.

Nice ferns Sandra.
I am always sad to hear of a fallen officer.
I passed an accident the last week with a police motorcycle just crushed - that was all I could see at the time.

So many fallen officers...just isn't right!

The ferns are so pretty in the sunlight and the photographer knows what she is doing!

Beautiful fern photos. And how nice of you to mention the police we so often take for granted.

sunlight and shadows dancing across ferns make for a lovely scene.
My Grandfather was a police officer. Thanks for the tribute to those who never came home.

I really like the way you've captured the sunlight on the fern. Thanks for bringing the Officer Down page to our attention.

This means they will be calling us for money. The lit up ferns are beautiful art, sunny wonders. Boston ferns are coming out in the stores now big time. The grocery stores are loaded with them. You have your own...

I love the way the sun is hitting those beautiful ferns. I also wish mine looked that good right now.

God Bless our law enforcement officers everywhere! Our friends daughter was a police officer and was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2005. It was such a tragedy and she was the first officer to be killed in Columbia, MO. Her parents had just had dinner with her that evening not long before she was shot.
