View from the swing

view from the swing
to see the real jungle click on photos to enlarge. We bought the house 24 years ago and started the plant to block the fact we have five houses that touch our back yard. Now all we see is the roof.

looking at the swing
Up close in the jungle below

we have trees on 3 sides and the house on the 4th side in the backyard jungle.

View from Google of our house to show how we are IN a jungle.

yes we have an overabundance of neighbors and our dream was to live on 10 acres with a house right in the middle... anyone got a spare half million?

You may have a lot of neighbours, but with all the growth on your yard,it must feel like you life in a jungle.I like that idea.

I would have done the same thing! We have a neighbor here who cut down a bunch of trees and we can now see their house in the wintertime. I wasn't too happy about it at the time but have gotten used to it. Besides, around here, things grow in pretty quickly and they are slowly becoming obscure. And I shouldn't be complaining. They are the only neighbor we see. We're lucky that way.

What are you talking about? Your jungle is fabulous. So pretty. I would love to have a jungle like that. You have many houses around you but yours is so private. Just a beautiful place to live!

It looks very private in your back yard with the "jungle" around it! The price of land is so high that it's almost impossible to buy a few acres anymore unless you are a gazillionare.

There's nothing better than a "natural" fence. You and the birds love it! It looks great to me.

Your house has five houses just beyond your backyard! You were smart to plant what you did!

I rather like the view from your swing. I can understand why you would want to live in a jungle with all those homes around you.

You have made your own little oasis.

I am amazed that there are so few trees an all the other properties.

Love the Google view. We've done that too and it's fascinating to see how everything works together.

I would much rather look at your jungle than all those houses. Our yards here are all way too open. I would love to have all those plants around my yard

I love your jungle! You have your own piece of paradise. :) I would have done the same thing! I have fences, plants and trees here. I grew up on ten acres and would love to someday live on ten acres again. :)

That is such a good idea to make your own jungle...if I didn't want to raise a garden, I would do that here.

Well there's one thing about it... You have plenty of privacy...Do you get along with your neighbors--when it comes to trees that may grow in their yard???? That's alot of neighbors close by for sure...

My brother lived in St. Augustine and his yard was like a jungle --but he was on the end by a canal ---so there weren't too many houses nearby. I loved his home.

We do have plenty of trees --but we also have open space also. But--you also have a small yard.. Do you ever have to spend big bucks getting the trees trimmed? We may have to have a tree cut down (think it is dying) --and they say it is expensive...

Thanks for sharing your jungle with us.,. Perfect for you two.

Betsy

You guys have created a secret garden of delights. I bet you don't even hear that road. And you really need the privacy, I can see that from the photos.

You have a lovely jungle. We would have done the same thing if our neighbors were that close. We do have trees all around the backyard but in the winter many lose their leaves and se can see some neighbors.

From the Google view it looks like a couple of neighbors have done a little planting too.

You have created a beautiful, secluded place, It's nice to have neighbours, but green screening with your jungle plants has brought you privacy and lots of interesting cover for wild life.

Looks like you do live in a jungle, an oasis in a sea of concrete.
