I have posted photos of this Virginia Creeper several times, but not the berries like this, it is more like Virginia RACER the way it grows. It is a poison ivy look alike, and Bob had yanked it out for many years.

ALERT: Last week Bob pulled vine after vine WITHOUT a shirt on.... 2 days later his back was covered in extreme rash, with blisters. He said it can't be the vine, I have pulled it for years, it is not poisonous.
I turned to my friend GOOGLE and found that the milky liquid that comes from broken vines CAN and SOMETIMES does cause a rash.... Next time Bobby Appleseed will HEED his Wife and wear a shirt with long sleeves, gloves and other protection.

OH NO....I HAD NO IDEA IT COULD CAUSE A RASH. I DID KNOW IT WAS INVASIVE.
AT FIRST I WAS AFRAID BOB HAD SHINGLES...THAT WOULD BE WORSE.

YIKES! Poor Bob... it is a beautiful plant, though!
We have that stuff here too--and I have pulled it out --and occasionally gotten a rash also... I hate it!!!!!
Hope you are having a good week.
Hugs,
Betsy
You mean he can be taught?? Wow! You've got a rare specimen there. lol
Gorgeous shots, btw.
oh, dear! that sounds AWFUL!
I wonder if there is Virginia Creeper in Virginia. I don't remember it! Hope Bob has learned his lesson and is healed.
Best,
Bonnie
Poor Bob, but I bet he will listen to you from now on. I haven't even opened my computer for a few days, but will try to get a bit caught up today.
Oh my gosh- I hope it didn't last long!
Oh NO! How is he now, did you put anything on it? I hope it does not last too long.It IS pretty when it has that touch of pinkish. Do the birds eat the berries?
Bobby Appleseed...that made me LOL! Poor guy. Next time, hopefully, he will listen to you and wear that long-sleeved shirt! Hope the rash doesn't last too long.
The photos are beautiful, who could have thought that plant to be so aggressive :) Poor Bob, I hope that the rash will calm down soon. Your header of the tomato flower has a lovely light in it.
silly Bobby....they are pretty vines...
Beautiful photo.
Hubby's should listen to their wives. :) Hope his back is all better!
Pretty vines!
You can never trust plants. Our baby Banjo ate a leaf from an indoor pot plant and it burnt his mouth it was a toxic plant and mum didn't know. I think nurseries should tell people if plants are toxic. Hope Booby appleseed's back is okay now.
some people just need to learn things the hard way.
Whenever I've spent a lot of time weeding flower beds I usually end up with a rash on my arms. I decided the best cure was to stop weeding
There are a few plants that I've had a reaction to - no fun at all!
Good Grief! I hope Bob is doing a whole lot better tonight. Those rashes can be very serious.
Hope you had a great day......

Cranberry Morning's comment was priceless. Interesting post. Didn't know about this plant's rash potential.
I think you can get an allergy to something many times later after the first few times of being okay. I hope Bob feels well soon! sandie
when oh when will men learn to listen!!! Poor Bob, I'll bet he heeds your warning next time!!!
I always taught kids at camp a saying for poison ivy, "leaves of three let it be". A lot of the weeds and stuff we pull out of our yards can cause rashes. I hope Bob learned his lesson. Virginia Creeper is pretty but invasive.
On the other hand, the pink and green makes for gorgeous photos.
Ouch...that doesn't sound very nice to get the rash from the vines. They look beautiful though.
Hope you'll have a great day, I'm getting ready for work.
Virginia Creeper leaves look pretty in the Autumn. Hope Bob's rash calms down. Hubby gets a rash when he trims the cyprus fir hedge, which is a big maintenance job.
omg, that sounds awful...poor bob.
hope your hubby feels well really soon!
It can be a pretty vine, but I'm sorry for Bob.
Oh my, I can't believe he got that rash! Hope it's better now.
