Sparkle, Sparkle, Gleam, Gleam

Sparkle, Sparkle, Gleam, Gleam,
my two days off were not what they seem.

I took two days off from blogging to find time to clean the dust bunnies, their children and grand children, off the glass in the NOOK (and other parts of the house)..... the glassware drying on the counter caused an attack of MadSnapperITIS...

the gleaming glassware called out to me to use the new fill flash 2nd curtain in my Canon  Rebel..

Several bloggers said in comments they did not know what fill flash is... All photos below were taken of single objects sitting in that mess you see in the first  photo. the fill flash removes the rest of the JUNK..

In email conversation with Ginny, I said the fill flash is a setting on my Nikon, I don't have it on the Rebel...

I then decided to research and found I DO HAVE IT... but it is called 2nd Curtain.. All of these photos were taken while learning to use that manual setting.
More tomorrow on what Fill flash is and how it works.

You have an amazing collection of photogenic items. Love the pictures. The ones towards the end have a very nice shallow depth of focus which makes them stand out.

You read some of the same blogs I read too. I have a Nikon but don’t get beautiful pictures like you do. Of course I am confused by all the manual thingies – I take many pictures of the same thing on automatic and keep the best one… Your pictures are stunning by their clarity.

Love the description of the family of dust bunnies.
I'm afraid I have their brothers and sisters here too.
I think you have inspired me to attack another cupboard and see what hidden "treasures" I can find.

Fantastic images. Two suggestions for you,one you are always welcome at my house. I will supply the cleaning rags and whatever else you need to polish my house and it's contents. Two,when you come bring your camera and let's have some fun. LOL

Dust bunnies...they live in everyone's houses. They want to be your pets! You sure do have an array of glassware. Do you have it out in the spot where you put your beautiful Christmas sparkly things? They look so pretty all together.

You lost me on the fill flash but the pictures as always are great. I will have to check out that 2nd curtain on my Rebel. Looking forward to your explanation tomorrow.

Very cool! OHHH MY, the fourth picture looks like long stalactites of glass dripping from the ceiling. Like in a cave only clear glass.

I do not like to wash the dust bunny families, so my collection of glassware and Avon bottles is safely ensconced in a couple of boxes- stuffed in the closet. It was me or them. I won.

Wow! Lots of nice shine and sparkle around your place sweet Sandra. I love the last pictures that is a cool setting. I have not been brave enough to explore very many settings on my camera, but one day. lol Hugs

Lots of lovely items to clean - some so delicate - but also good ones to experiment technical things with your camera. Love the last shot with the thick rim and the softer base.

I wonder if webster's dictionary has the meaning of Madsnapperitis? If not, it should.

Laughing over Susannah's comment about dust bunnies wanting to be pets. Does that mean I should start feeding the dust bunny family that lives under my bed? Wonder what they eat. I love all your sparkly glass.

Oh your pictures are awesome. I like all your crystal collections. Love that reindeer. And animal selections. I see a bunny.

I will come back when it is a miserable day and look again.

Now I have to go dust my things it is Friday. My holidays are over and now back to the days of dust and shine.
