I found this Zebra Long Wing butterfly floating in the pool the day after Christmas.
Pointing at the butterfly I said "Bob get that out for me" . he said "why, it’s dead."
"Because I want it" (can you guess why I wanted it?)
Bob can bend from the waist and scoop it out, when he touched it it tried to fly, it was so cold, the water is 62 degrees right now. I was screaming IT'S ALIVE...
Bob sat him gently on the wall in the sun and after about 10 minutes he beat his wings a few times and lifted up and soared over the pool with me yelling "NO not over the pool",
then he lifted up, up up to the pine tree and we were both saying flap harder. he made it to the needles and sat for a while and flew away.
Below is just a few of the hundreds of drowning swimmers we have pulled from the pool....
beetle, toad, tiny frog, bee, lizard, ring neck snake, tree frog and dragon fly... all of these lived....
this makes both of us officially "POOL PARAMEDICS... "

So see, Sandra, you two are real medics!...:)JP
What a beauty! Nice job paramedicing!!
Way to go!! Sort of like me and saving sticks. I am sure your critters appreciate it more than my sticks do.
Blessings,
Goose
glad you saved him. i always save the moths and beetles that land in the horse water tubs. :)
Pool?? Butterflies?? Thank you for reminding me that these cold winter days will soon end and we will have butterflies once again! It's sooo cold here, 4 degrees with snow, white out, wind, and expecting our wind chill to drop to -10 tonight. It would be pretty if the wind wasn't howling like an old cold wolf. No critter here, except for our chocolate lab laying on her blanket by the kitchen door.
So glad you rescued this beauty. Your pool would be a skating rink here.
Love the Pool Paramedics! You both take care of God's creatures. We have been having lady bugs inside the house. You know during the year we have every bug known to man! Roaches, or ants are out of luck, but the rest we put back outside.
Love ya, Madeline (Snapper II's main squeeze :-)
NurseSnapper.......
I use to do that when we had our pool. Way to go!
Bob and the Madsnapper to the rescue....lucky critters...beautiful butterfly...
That's a beauty of a butterfly. I love your header photo too.
You're doing a great job!
Every picture a treasure.
Eeeek! You've had some crazy things in your pool! Glad they all lived. ;)

SO YOU KNOW WE HAVE TO ASK...WAS THERE ANY ITTY BITTY MOUTH TO MOUTH INVOLVED!!??
BRAVO FOR THE EMS
HUGS MADI AND MOM
If these critters could talk they would be thanking you for saving their life.
I wonder if these critters choose your pool because they know there are paramedics standing by :) That beetle is seriously ugly
I can just see a tv show called Pool Paramedics....I bet the average person would not expect this!
Such a pretty butterfly! I am so glad it was rescued!
Bless your little buggy heart : ) Which ones did you do CPR on?
I would say "creepy crawly paramedics" ...but somehow that doesn't sound right lol and I love creepy crawlies. You have a great heart !
Oh my goodness - think it is official - you are pool vets!!!!
You are so cool!!! Your tender heart is showing - again!
You have such a kind heart. We save every creature we can. :)
Pool Paramedics with a little search and rescue too. It's good to know you are watching out for all those tiny critters. Your new header is great, so warm looking.
