Monotone ME

I would love to have either of these, the gray is my choice
While discussed hoarding, I made the comment I am the opposite of Hoarding, whatever that is. Someone said that would be Spartan...

I found I do live somewhat like a Spartan but am not a fan of Spartan Decor, but modern is good.

I do live mostly spartan, simple, frugal, minimalist shopping only for needs. No junk, no clutter, we buy used when possible, that includes cars. I have only owned one new car in my 69 years. I think carefully on all purchases and most of time do not buy on impulse.

Spartan Decorating that is definitely NOT me HERE

Modern living rooms I LOVE the gray is my choice
The above gray kitchen and gray living room are what I would have if I could afford to. I like clean lines, zero clutter, just what I need to live

the below sofas were because we were dirt poor and I bought used.

Above photos from Google images. My first sofa was brown and ugly like this one, the second one looked just like it but with the red flowers, the 3rd had brown flowers on the wooden one. that was 1963 through 1984

Above is the 4 sofas we have had since 1985 minus the ugly brown one from the thrift store in 84.. 12 dollars it cost us..... all our sofas comes with dogs.

I'll take that gray kitchen too. As for decor, it has to be welcoming and comfortable and functional.

Best,
Bonnie

I love the gray kitchen/living too. About the only place I have doo dads is in the china cabinet behind glass. I find it easier to clean the house with Spartan décor!!!
John had the wooden type sofa with brown plaid loose cushions when we married...we called it Early Bachelor instead of early American!

We too loved the fact that sofas came with dogs. We like your choices but likewise in the real world we need to just keep dreaming too. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly

Ha ha Love it !! All our sofas come with dogs too.
I love clean lines and uncluttered as well ~ just somehow I rarely achieve it ;)

i'm not quite as spartan in my taste, but i try to eliminate most clutter. our current set is the first sofa and loveseat that the dogs are not allowed on - but that's because we gave them their own big couch. :)

The best kind of sofas are the ones that come with dogs :)

Enjoyed the mix of modern, your memory lane decor stroll and especially your last sentence on your choice of sofa "accents."

I am the same way!!! Even as a kid...my family worked a lot so had no time for neat. The house was always clean, but a mess. Starting at maybe eight, I could not stand the mess and would run around straightening and putting stuff away. I have to have things neat!! And NOT cluttered, that gives me claustrophobia. I like open spaces with plenty of room and air. Also I fall, so do not need anything to fall over. Is the black leather your current couch? Very classy and perfect if you have pets. I have you beat!! We have been married almost 45 years and have never had a new car!!!

I like the simple colors and designs. I'm not sure mine would stay that way.

Couches should always come with a dog!

Never buy a sofa that doesn't come with a dog!

I like the red kitchen. I need the punch of color.

I LOVE the red kitchen!!! I'm in the middle when it comes to stuff. I have a lot of books and pictures. As far as cars, I've only had one new one and it was a lemon..chevy camaro. lol
Love that red, I need the name of that shade!!

I think all sofas should come with dogs. The pictures of the living rooms and kitchens are nice but I'm not crazy about modern styles. I don't even know if I have a style though, I'm a bit eclectic.
I tend to be a bit of a hoarder when it comes to craft supplies too.

I like teh gray kitchen and living room too. My Goldie Girl would be on the couch if she was able to jump up. All our sofas came with dogs.. Have a happy week!

I am not a hoarder, but stuff sure finds it's way to my house. I have stuff from Roger's mom and she passed away in 2005. I have gotten rid of a LOT of it...but some my girls will want.

Either of those kitchens are ok, but just not me. If the red were a brighter red, I would love it...and if the gray was mine, I would add some color and then I would love it.

However, I would love to have my things better organized...and I wish I were more of a minimalist. (except where my quilting/fabric/sewing machines are concerned.)

Those sofas remind me of our first several also. One was a SICK off green color (hand me down) and another was an ugly brown tweed, the third were wild huge flower print. It was all the style but now..ugh no way!
I admire your Spartan life style...me I have "stuff".

I'm with you about the clutter! I've always liked neat, but I think as I get older, it is even more important to me. The gray is nice and very popular these days. My son and DIL have lots of gray in their home...it is lovely. Interesting story about your neighbor...glad he stood strong!!

oh I was surprised you never took the one over the grey.

Utterly shocked girly.

I would as that is one of my fav colors Red Kitchen.

Well, I don't like clutter but it seems to follow me around...and sometimes gets there ahead of me. :))

I plan to live a spartan life in a few years. I have a lot to get rid of and I must Simplify my life! I am not a fan of spartan decorating either.

I like the red kitchen. My husband's favorite color is "gray." Is that really a color? ;) I loved your couches, especially the dogs that came with them. That's the best kind.
