September 22, 2007 at 7:12 AM, daybreak, flocks of pelicans lifted off and island and came to the Anna Maria Pier for breakfast. Diane and I read about the phenomena in the paper and watched in Amazement. The most amazing part we could not get pictures because of the darkness.
There were also hundreds of Seagulls.

I love the limerick in your earlier post. These photos are truly amazing.
My favorite bird is the snowy egret, Sandra. And, i am not sure why, except that it's fun to watch when it hunts for food and the yellow feet make me smile...crazy.
By the way, I also smiled when you described your dish collection in a comment on Mona's newest dish buy.
I would have loved to be there for that!!!!...:)JP
Wow, gorgeous sunrise. I love the Pelicans, they are one of my favorites.. Awesome shots.. Happy Sunday!
I love brown pelicans too. I just don't get to see enough of them.
Amazing shots. Lucky you. Have a serene Sunday and we should all partake of some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly
I want to be on that beach right now with my camera! :D

What was on the menu, I wonder! I LOVE pelicans, too!!
Kayaking this week I had a few fly near me, but nothing like the flock you have.

Wow! I feel that you captured it well. WISH I had seen it!! My favorite is the very first picture, the excitement of what's to come and the pink background.
What a grand sight. Both the birds and the dawning.
These Pelicans are both comical and beautiful,at the same time.
Beautiful, Sandra! Especially the first shot. Love it!
wow...never seen so many at one place!
I have only seen one or two wayward pelicans. Never that many. Always reminds me of the verse my dad would say. A funny bird is a pelican it's beak can hold more than its bellycan I don't know how in the hellitcan.
It looks like the gulls might have been a little intimidated by the pelicans. I love watching pelicans, they remind me of prehistoric creatures. You got some great shots of those guys!
I am missing the beach. Thought I might get to make a trip down to one but, alas, it doesn't look promising! I will content myself with looking at your photos! I may have to visit some of your older posts to get my 'sea fix!'
A large flock of birds is impressive, and you got to see your favorites en masse.
Love these pictures. They really are a fascinating looking bird
Amazing!
What a wonderful post, your photos are fun to see. So many pelicans! Amazing!
I love these Pelicans. Beautiful.
Awesome... talk about being in the right place at the right time...wish i could have been there.
Wish I had some beach time - that is just what I need!
