Tales of my Daddy

Daddy loved to hunt birds and target shoot 1913-2006
Daddy lived in a retirement community and on the way home one evening, he stopped to chat with his neighbor who lived 6 lots down.... they sat in the yard and talked for an hour and at dusk Daddy went home.

the next morning he showered and dressed, ate breakfast and walked out to get in his car. NO CAR! he went into panic mode shouting someone stole my car... He walked out in the middle of the street to see if there was anyone to help him, and 6 doors down sat his Saturn, parked in front of the neighbors house...

The Acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.... I am just like him....Have not lost my car YET..

The funniest story of all... at age 88 he was about to step in the shower and thought, Charles, vacuum the living room before you shower. He did not redress. The hose came off the vac, he got the super glue and glued it back on, but in the process glued his pointer and thumb together... It would not open at all.
He used a serrated steak knife to saw between the fingers, yes there was a little blood involved. He said I was naked, I could not call for help.

We howled with laughter but if/when this happens to me, it will NOT be posted HERE!

So far I mostly tend to get lost on the Internet... Starting out to do one thing, getting sidetracked and ending up doing something different! (Hence no blogging this weekend...)

Your dad sounds like a hoot! I've never lost my car, except in the grocery store parking lot, but I had a friend who did. That was after a night of carousing though. It was found a few blocks from her apartment fortunately. I think I would rather be seen naked than use a steak knife on my fingers...yikes!

How lucky you were to have you Dad around and tell funny stories. I cannot even imagine what my Dad might have said. I lost him far too soon.
You look a fair bit like him.

Those are two sweet stories about your Daddy. Seeing the picture of the two of you reminds me of something my friend recently shared on Facebook:
