Daddy loved to hunt birds and target shoot 1913-2006 |
Daddy lived in a retirement community and on the way home one evening, he stopped to chat with his neighbor who lived 6 lots down.... they sat in the yard and talked for an hour and at dusk Daddy went home.
the next morning he showered and dressed, ate breakfast and walked out to get in his car. NO CAR! he went into panic mode shouting someone stole my car... He walked out in the middle of the street to see if there was anyone to help him, and 6 doors down sat his Saturn, parked in front of the neighbors house...
The Acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.... I am just like him....Have not lost my car YET..
He used a serrated steak knife to saw between the fingers, yes there was a little blood involved. He said I was naked, I could not call for help.
We howled with laughter but if/when this happens to me, it will NOT be posted HERE!

Tee hee. He was a brave man to tell you about it...but I guess he never suspected you would tall all your friends. :))
What a hoot! You look just like your dad.
Best,
Bonnie
Oh how funny! You two really look alike. Raining hard here today. Hope you have a good day.
You do look so much like your dad. Loved the stories!
this explains a lot... ;)
Absolutely delightful story. Too funny (my mental picture).
So far I mostly tend to get lost on the Internet... Starting out to do one thing, getting sidetracked and ending up doing something different! (Hence no blogging this weekend...)
The two of you look so much alike! What funny stories! I think we may be like that JUST a little!
What wonderful memories of a very special man...who did not take himself too seriously.
Hugs all around and should I glue my fingers together...I will post with one hand
Hugs cecilia
Those stories are too funny. You do seem a lot like him, even look like him.:)
Your dad sounds like a hoot! The car episode is absolutely something I would do!
It is good to relive funny stories.
Enjoy seeing the resemblance between you and your father.
Love these tales. You look like your dad. When I was a kid I rode my bike to school and caught the train home........
I am surprised he admitted all those things to you! You two must have been close. Those two stories were precious.
Love the photos. That's cute about the car being left at the neighbor's!
You look so much like your dad! Loved your stories. PS Be careful with the glue!
Your dad sounds like a hoot! I've never lost my car, except in the grocery store parking lot, but I had a friend who did. That was after a night of carousing though. It was found a few blocks from her apartment fortunately. I think I would rather be seen naked than use a steak knife on my fingers...yikes!
you look just like him! not only do you look like him, you also have his wonderful sense of humor. :) and you both have great stories to share :)
Precious memories of your Dad. Hold them close to your heart!
How lucky you were to have you Dad around and tell funny stories. I cannot even imagine what my Dad might have said. I lost him far too soon.
You look a fair bit like him.
Love your remembrances.
Oh my gosh those stories were hilarious. - By the way you look a lot like your dad. Memories are so much fun.
Those are two sweet stories about your Daddy. Seeing the picture of the two of you reminds me of something my friend recently shared on Facebook:
