Standing on our pool deck, looking to the West.. we have this view of Fort Bratz
25 years ago, we bought the house and there was a 6 foot chain link between us and the house next door.
Perfect because the lady who lived there was a shut in with no family and never had company and never came in the back yard. 24 years ago she passed away and we added a second fence for... well... PRIVACY..
.
The reason being a man and woman with three small boys.. We nicknamed the middle boy Rambo... get my drift? he was 3 at the time. There dad built Fort Bratz jammed up against our fence. the boys loved to stand on the fort and toss oranges, grapefruit, toys, balls, anything at all trying to hit the pool. or the dogs.
They bought a new house, we celebrated the day they moved...they rented this house to a friend. They moved in 1 girl 5 boys. OMG The little girl can break glass when she screams and she does this ALL DAY LONG... talk about crying wolf... there is no way to tell if she is ever hurt or not.
Last week I stood in the yard laughing.. War games were ON all day, they had added two visiting boys... the 4 year old girl was The Enemy, attacking the boys LOUDLY... I wish i could remember all the things they said, but at one point they TOOK the fort and planted this flag..
They repeated every sentence you have ever heard in a war movie.. it was hilarious...except for the part about the war will NEVER end.. for us that is.
This photo is Just the flag, it looks like a stick is in it. i cropped it close below. Isn't this strange?
If any of you have a need for dirty diapers (free shipping) let me know, since at times they are tossed from the fort into our yard.

Good grief, after reading this I thank God for quiet neighbors.
I really hope this sorts itself out soon. Otherwise speak to the neighbors, because having things thrown into your yard constantly (dirty diapers, yuck) is not a nice thing at all.

Brats. We have had our fair share of noisy neighbours in the past so we sympathise. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
Wow, they do sound like brats.. I would not put up with them throwing the trash and stuff into your yard.. Will it start a new war if you complain? Parents tend to think their kids are angels and do no wrong. Wishing you a happy and peaceful day.
Oh boy, what an adventure this is. Maybe you need a taller privacy fence!
...Or collect all the discarded items and return them. Maybe you need a good sling shot.
I really hope this resolves itself soon! We all deserve peace and quiet in our homes...
Scoop all that tossed stuff up and deliver it to their front door! Noise is one thing but lobbing "stuff" over the fence is not acceptable.
Best,
Bonnie
And they say good fences make good neighbors?
WHAT A GLORIOUS SIGHT TO SEE OLD GLORY DANCING IN THE BREEZE WITH THE SUN AS HER SPOTLIGHT. SANDRA...I DON'T MEANT TO SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD BUT YOUR
CREATIVITY IS ENDLESS!.
ms madi here (whispering). thankfully the chest of drawers belong to dad's parent's bedroom suite it is probably 80 years old back when they made things
well. the drawers are all deep. that particular one is probably 5 or 6" deep. mom guesses there was about 3" clearance because she had just taken our some towels.
no learned nothing...from that trauma. one day later mom was putting away christmas candles...i tried to get in that drawer and yes the camera was handy then....to be continued.
hugs madi your bfff but not mom's bfff
First off, there just has to be an ordinance of some kind. I'd check into it.
And begin throwing their refuse into their FRONT Yard!! All's fair in love and war.
sign it, "to Fort Bratz from Fort Blissful".
that would be hellishly dreadful. and i'm sure it is for you, bob and the dogs!
How horrid that is! I keep telling you that there's lots of empty land up here in my neck of the woods. We seldom hear a neighbor. BUT, of course, you have to put up with mornings that start at twenty below zero - like today. Brrrr.
So sorry about your bratty neighbors, friend. :-(((
Neighbours can be a real pain... In my building there have been changes in several apartments lately. At the moment it's rather quiet - fingers crossed! - with no one currently in the habit of regularly playing music too loud. And outdoors it's quiet on the human front because the weather has been too awful for kids to be out and play much! Winter and summer differ a lot in that respect here, in summer there is more noise because when it's hot everyone has their balcony doors and windows open, and kids are playing around on the lawns outside.
Our neighborhood was full of kids, including Kyle. But, I would have never allowed him to disrespect someone's home, yard or pets! Towards the end of our time in our home we had a neighbor move in and they crammed their trampoline next to our fence. Our dogs barked and barked and I let them. LOL They finally moved it. :) I think I told you about our new neighbor on the other side. She and her daughter 'n law decided that it was okay to let their dog out the front door without a leash and teach him to poop in our front yard. I rescued their dog when he would take off and not listen to any of them, but he would come to me. LOL Anyway the mother and I shared a few words and I reminded her that I had cameras. :) Her daughter, not daughter 'n law, apologized to me all the time for her mother's behavior.
You're maintaining a lot of self control not throwing those diapers back, that is so disgusting!!
I truly feel for you. We have 3 boys in the house next to ours and they are horrible. They are getting better at not throwing things into our yard because I have taken the things their front door a few times. Screwdrivers, scissors, hangers, food items, toys, etc. I don't know if the dogs were out at the times but they could have killed them throwing a few of those items from the balcony!
Gosh it seems everyone was smarter than I - I reread this twice and didn't really get it until I read the comments.
That is horrible for neighbors to throw things in your yard - pigs!
Neighbors mean a lot to us and I'm glad they're not mine!! It does look like the stick is through it!!...:)JP
This makes me appreciate my quiet neighbours even more.
This makes me appreciate my quiet neighbours even more.
Holy Moley!!!! Good thing for the fence. I guess there is nothing you can do either. Kids will be kids and you want to be a good neighbor. They toss dirty diapers into the pool? Have you tried bringing their mom some cookies and having a talk with her? What an awful situation!
oh my, how do you not lose it? I live in a very quiet neighborhood. Very few children any more and even when there was the worst that ever happened was the little boy a few houses down who would just show up in my back yard and play in the sand box
How do you keep your sanity? I would be going bonkers by now. Nasty little kids!!!
You poor thing... and I thought my neighbors were annoying.
What DEAR neighbors....
My goodness, you have given them the perfect name.
I thought our neighbor behind us was bad but they are perfection compared to yours.
Great photos of the flag by the way...
OMG how do you put up with that. I feel so sorry for you. I hope you find a solution to the problem.
holly molly, that's horrible! they do sound like pigs.
wonderful photos of the flag btw.
Oh, how I feel for you...cannot stand a screaming kid...that screams for no reason. I think most of us teach our kids first thing, not to scream unless something is really wrong.
I love your banner. Your post made me want to throw up - for you. Yukadoodle. They are not good neighbors to you or for you but they are sure blessed to have your loving (& evidently kind & patient) soul next door. Geez!
I think their cousins live next door to us.
I don't envy you your neighbours! I'd have to buy earplugs. Dirty diapers? EW!!
