Farmers Market Old Main Street

Saturday morning, we went to the Farmers Market on Old Main Street. Our city closes that street for a few blocks and vendors set up their tents.

Produce is what we were after and the tomatoes are delish..  It was a beautiful day, some came on bicycles, others walked. I could not resist the moss hanging in my face and the orchids for sale.. do you have farmers markets close by?

these are heirloom tomatoes and a friend said they may look ugly but they are wonderful. we did not try them this time.

These are such pretty and colorful photos. When we lived in Canton, we loved going to the farmer's market on the town square each Sat. It's been months since I tasted a "good" tomato!

It won't be until summer when we will get the really good fresh grown tomatoes here. Loved your images from the farmers market and all the colors from the vegetables.

Oh Sandra, those tomatoes look so colorful and tasty. I know the heirloom tomatoes and although they taste good, I don't like to use them! Brilliant post! Jo

We have a farmers' market on the square Saturday mornings from spring to fall. We much prefer the heirloom tomatoes over any other. There are many varieties in many colors. Can't wait!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Best,
Bonnie

I love a Farmer's Market!! We use to have produce stands here but they have all disappeared long years ago. There ARE farmer's markets around with the biggest one being in Dallas. I need to check out some in nearby towns that are a little closer like Grapevine or Coppell. I couldn't help but notice The Lost Kangaroo Pub!!! Looks like a fun place! There's nothing in the world Louis Dean loves more than a home grown tomato!!!

We have many Farmers Markets in Summer Sandra.

Like you are showing.

The selections are tasty and not cheap here where I live.

Just fresher.

Happy St. Patrick's to you.

We have SIDS Birthday Thursday.

We do not celebrate the event but
wish the best that do. Love you in that hat my dear. So becoming on you. Love your dolly and your doggies. And your riddle. Have a good day.

hey sandra, you got some beautiful and interesting shots.
those heirloom tomatoes look so pretty and tasty!
i like farmers markets because the food is fresh, & locally grown, so it tastes better than anything that has to travel hundreds of miles. also, the atmosphere in those outdoor markets is absolutely lovely. for me, it's a great outing if nothing else.

I wish there was a farmer's market close by. We are too small of a town to have one though. It would be a wonderful place to take photos, though.

Heirlooms are the very best but so expensive.
I love the farmers markets and all the fresh fruit and veggies. They always taste so much better than those from the stores.
You make me hungry for a nice tossed salad...yum.

My mouth is watering....unfortunately I'll have to wait about 6 months for outdoor farmer's markets to open in northern Utah! There is nothing that tastes better than home grown tomatoes and home grown corn, both of which we try to do every year!

Love the produce! Looks yummy! I'll check for one here now. Fingers crossed! :))

The tomatoes in the first pic look tempting. In summer in harvest time there are usually some stalls in the main square in town for local / seasonal products. And a harvest market one Saturday in early september. We also have one spring and one autumn market occupying several streets in the town centre for a weekend, but those are more about other stuff than local produce.

Oh, sweet Sandra what fun that must have been. I have never in my life seen such beautiful, yummy looking tomatoes. All the produce looks wonderful. That moss is amazing...I am in awe of the plants in FL such beauty. Hugs

We do have farmers markets here but nothing quite as elaborate as this. But I'd put money on our tomatoes being better than yours any day! Of course, they probably won't be available until June but they're worth waiting for! Sorry to be such a braggart!

We have a farmer's market here in our town every Tuesday in the summer and fall. We have our garden so we don't buy a lot of what we grow but we do buy some sunflowers, sweet cherries, etc. It is so nice.
