Longboat Beach

Sunday at 7:15 AM Bob and Sandra at the beach....
Bob hoofed it down to the water down this path...
to stand patiently waiting in his "she is taking another photo" stance.

The flowers were calling my name..
The shoes were calling my name..

They had the cutest cubby holes to leave our shoes in, and it only took me about five minutes to slip off my flip flops and place them in the cubby hole...

Can you guess why it took me five minutes?????

Just in case you are pondering why there is a place to leave our shoes, it is because there is a parking lot and a very long boardwalk to get over the dunes with out destroying them.

The shoes are left at the beginning of the white sugar sand in order to squiggle our toes in sugar sand and walk barefoot down to the water.

Above is looking to the west and below is looking to the east..
There were maybe  10 people  on the whole beach which is about 2 miles long
TO BE CONTINUED... but then you KNEW that..

I've heard of taking your shoes off when you go inside but never outside...lol I wouldn't mind walking in that sugar sand though.
I'm laughing at the fact that Bob has a she's taking another picture stance

This is a new one for me, I've never heard of having to take your shoes off outside! The beach looks wonderful and so do those pretty skies!

That lone beach is really fascinating to see, and I bet it's even more welcoming to be there.

Such a gorgeous time of day to enjoy the beauty without lots of people. Love your photos. Funny how our dogs/husbands don't like us to take their photos!

It is so pretty! I have never felt Sugar Sand. Is that a little beach bird in the last picture? Are you going to show the shoe cubbies? For the answers to that and MORE, I need to tune in tomorrow, same time, same place.

Oh, I love that shoe cubby! I would like the beach there if that was all the people there...I hate crowded places.

Wow, empty beach... Am I right in assuming that has something to do with the hour of the day?? Wonderful idea with the cubby holes...

I love the cubby hole for the shoes and yes I think you have to take as much time getting your shoes off as I do :)

I wouldn't mind a long walk to the beach if at the end it was as beautiful as that. Great to have it more or less to yourselves.

I've never been to a beach where there is a place to leave your shoes. That is neat! You have me now where I can't wait to go to the beach in June. That is if we get to go still.... We scheduled it last year and didn't realize school would not be out when it was supposed to be out because of all of the snow days they had this year. So if we go to the beach when we scheduled it the kids will miss 10 days of school.... and I will be put in jail! lol Sigh... So my husband keeps putting off calling about it. He made the plans and knows the details to which I have no clue except that it is the beach! lol
