Star of Wonder

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.

I found this old song sung by Carolina Story, the harmony is wonderful and I LOVE IT.

Are you wondering why there is a star key chain hanging on the Christmas tree above? Here is the reason..
Monica at Beyond The Lone Islands   stated she was going to open a drawer, or cabinet every day for Advent and find something to post about for each day. I opened the drawer and there was this Keychain that I recieved from Heritage Park Facility, where my friend Rich lived. It says Volunteers are Stars.

It is hard to take a photo of a key chain, the nook was lit, and the star was hung on everything that would hold it and if you know me, you know The Rest Of The Story.

Ah yes, I know that song well. When I was growing up we had little booklets of Christmas hymns. To this day my favorite Christmas songs are the ones that were in that booklet.
What a neat idea for advent.

What a lovely idea for advent. So cute that the key chain came from the facility where your good friend lived. I love this Christmas Carol and was always sorry when it couldn't be sung in Afrikaans. We have bilingual church service here in Marquard and as the organist I chose the Christmas carols leading up to Christmas Eve. Thanks for sharing this post. Blessings Jo

You did well with the middle picture especially! It really IS hard to take good indoors close-up pictures of little objects - and not least in the dark...

I love the idea of something from a drawer, or even just something from inside...I have thought about a fabric a day.

I love that song. They did a lovely job with the song. Love the key chain and seeing it in the drawer was a gentle reminder of your dear friend Rich who I am sure your are missing deeply.
