We heard the SCREEE..SCREEE... hunting call of The Hawk... I rushed to the window to see what he was hunting and there was our little guy, huddled in a crack, not a hair was moving. He was hiding in the camo of the sun dapples..
I rushed out with the camera and The Hawk Moved on... Camo Squirrel Lived another day.
Speaking of Hiding In Plain Sight... We live in sub tropics, that means we have light weight blanket on the bed. On the rare occasion the temps drop below 65, we have a 2nd light weight that goes on top. The temps dropped, I COULD NOT FIND THE 2nd Blanket...
Not in 2 closets it should be
Not in 3 closets it should not be
Not in HOUSE. Gone...
That night preparing to put the UGLY blanket I keep only for emergency's on the bed. I turned to put 2 pillows on the stool where pillows live when not on the bed and There to My wondering Eyes Did Appear... The Lost Blanket. Folded and placed there the last time I removed it, with unused pillows on top of it.. Hiding In Plain Sight Where I PUT IT...

Best,

Good morning, pretty shots of your camo squirrel. So glad he was safe from the hawk. I often find stuff hidden in plain sight, very strange. Happy Tuesday, enjoy the week ahead!
How sweet it is!!!
Yea! for little Camo Squirrel!
Usually I find things that I have turned the house upside down looking for it, when looking for something else. Great photo of the squirrel. Glad you saved his day :)
What a beautiful squirrel shot, love the dappled sunlight!!
YAY for found blankies! I wouldnt have found it until after things had warmed up again ;-).
Cute squirrel pictures. I feel so normal, after reading about your blanket problems.I tend to put things in a safe place and you know how the rest of the story unfolds.:)
Fantastic squirrel photos. Glad you save them.
If we added the time we spend looking for things in plain sight to our life I'm sure we would live much longer.
Squirrels are a sneaky lot and OMCs can they eat a lot for their size and they never gain weight. That makes me so jealous
Hugs madi
I lose so many things the same way! In plain sight , love how the squirrel blends in so well
Love the light in the squirrel pictures; and I don't know how much time I've spent looking for objects hiding in plain sight around my own flat... Somehow this seems to happen more frequently with every year...
Laughing here--this is so much me!
love your little squirrely. yup, that maddening search... glad you found it! :)
That is a fantastic photo ...
All the best Jan
Too, too funny....only because I do the very same thing. (blankets)
So glad you saved the squirrel to chatter another day.
I'm glad the squirrel didn't end up hawk food.
I hate it when something is right there in plain sight and I can't find it.
lucky squirrel! he's sooo cute! those are really good photos of him!
How perfect this was!!! Hiding in PLAIN SIGHT!!! This happens to us a lot, too!!
Whenever I can't find something I have misplaced, it's always located in the last place I've looked. Makes me wonder WHY it couldn't be the first place instead. And, yes things DO hide in plain sight!
Oh, I laughed about the lost blanket! Glad you found it, but it is amazing how easy it is to "lose" something and what a joy when you find it!
Glad you found the lost blanket! Love the photos of the squirrel with the lighting. Cute fella....
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hides things in plain sight. I stumbled onto a prescription savings card the other day when cleaning, and decided I should not toss it--just in case. Well, I needed it, and could not for the life of me remember where I saw/put it. It did finally turn up, but I never would have thought to look in the place it was found. I'm glad your squirrel was safe for another day. Hawks know to clear the premises when the crazy camera ladies show up! Have a lovely day!
Lucky squirrel. I have no idea how an eagle sounds but I felf a chill reading about that sound. A yes the misplaced stuff can be so frustrating and a memory challenge.
