Cable Line DOWN!!!

Funny thing happened on the way to a tree trimming....See that blurry thing in the middle of the above photos? See the cable laying in the palmettos? that is ONE end of the CABLE that brings our INTERNET, TV and PHONE into our house. The OTHER end is attached to the roof.

Yes, we have no cable was my cry as the Spectrum support guy answered my call, nothing, we have NOTHING because My husband was trimming a limb with his new chain saw on an extension pole and the buzzing saw went through the limb and the recoil of the saw back over his head SAWED the cable in half.

23 hours with no Wireless, 4 of my five devices were dead... I did have books on my Kindle E reader, but it was hard to read because TV man had nothing to DO... we could not go to bed earlier because we already go to bed early...

Kudos to Spectrum for having us back on line in under 24 hours.. The Cable guy was scheduled from 12 to 2 and he showed up at 11:15 and at 11:30 he was DONE and everything was Back. No Charge for destroying their property on our property.

NOTE: The Man was not injured in the slaying of the cable line... The saw on the pole is in custody of the wife until further notice.

Ha Ha Ha Ha!! I hope the wife keeps the saw impounded for a long time. The chain saws are very dangerous, and we know people who have had bad accidents with them, even experienced people. Plus they make way too much noise. What great support you got from your connection people! Totally unheard of around here!! This incident shall probably forever be known as The Great Easter Saw Blackout.

Good idea to impound the saw! During the roofing last week, we had to relocate the dish off the roof. Fortunately it went smoothly and we were back to watching tv quickly!

Oh dear...! Glad you got help as fast as you did, anyway.
I've managed to resurrect my computer this morning - it started without problem. I suspect the reason it did not restart directly after its self-repair yesterday was that it happened during what I had marked as "active hours" (i.e. it's basically told not to restart itself then). It still hasn't installed or even collected all its available updates, and I don't know how to get that over and done with. I think it's getting old and tired and is not coping very well with Win 10. It gets overheated sometimes and shuts down from exhaustion... So probably time to buy a new one (hopefully before this one dies).

Men and their toys. Many years ago the RG took down a pine tree and the electric service for a 1/4 mile. Our new neighbors were delighted---not. Just last week he took down yet another pine tree. Fortunately our utilities are underground at this home.

Hello, Sandra! I am glad the saw is in custody now. Spectrum did well with their quick service. I would be lost without my internet, lol.

Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Good job Spectrum. When they came and did our installation for cable and internet they were right on time and worked quick.
I have to say that a chain saw on an extension pole sounds rather dangerous. Glad to hear you have it in custody...lol

Well I am sure glad you're back online. Better keep your eye on that saw! LOL

I know how you felt, because I know how I feel when ours goes out...even for a just a little bit. It is a sort of naked feeling. And the one night here a bit back ours went out....no cable, not phone, and even my cell phone was not working which was a totally different service. Talk about feeling strange.

I hope you have the chainsaw under lock and key! LOL

Oh my gosh.....NO CABLE. I would be so totally lost! I read, I cross stitch, I paint, I do everything to my tv on and usually till evening hours it is on cable. Glad you have it back on. Right now, Dakota and I are sitting on the couch, I am on the laptop, drinking a protein drink, and my tv is on while Supernatural is playing on cable! I am spoiled! Hope you had a great weekend.

Hope your electric wires are all underground! I think chain saws are dangerous and I always cringe each time BG gets his out to do some trimming. Glad you have Bob's in custody for now! lol! Hope you both had a nice Easter!

No cable is annoying now that we have come to love it so much. Thankfully no one was injured with that device.

I love this 'news flash' and it was just as I suspected!!! Bob's fault!! Beware of old men weilding chain saws! I have one of them myself! They require constant supervision~!!!

Only YOU could make an awful (and potentially scary) situation so funny!
I seriously had a mental image of that recoil, Bob hanging onto the pole for dear life.

Spectrum's customer service? Wow. Wish they'd come out here and give Cox a run for their money.

'Off with his head!' could have been your cry. Sounds to me like Bob is lucky the recoil of the saw didn't take off his head, rather than cut the cable. Losing Bob's head would even be worse than losing your Kindle. Right? (Say YES, Sandra!!) LOL ANWYAY, that sounds very scary to me. I hope you're being extra nice to him today (after telling him not to ever do that again!!) xo

Wow, that could have been nasty, end of Bob, lol
Shows how we miss the internet etc, bit like the book I read for 24 hours, blackout.
Glad all's okay now.

I can't say a word because I did the same thing one time, only it was with a pair of hedge clippers instead of a chain saw.

That's great service--and no charge! Glad Bob is OK, though I'm sure he's missing his saw.

I'm glad Bob wasn't hurt and I'm glad you have the saw on the pole. I'm always warning Mark but he never listens.

Sweet Sandra it sounds as if you need to put that saw under lock and key and hide the key. Glad to hear there were no injuries to the man with the saw. That is great your cable guy fixed it and with no charge to you. Keep a close eye on that saw guy when and if you allow him to use it again. lol Hugs
