Holiday Traditions

My oldest son was born in 1965, I purchased the tiptoe Santa for his first Christmas for 99 cents. Santa is 52 and son David will be 53 in Feb, other son will be 51 in Feb. Each year since they were born, this cute Santa sits somewhere in the house. This year he is standing in the starry lights in my nook.
Since 2009 my Christmas Tradition is making cards for all you blogger friends and posting HERE for you to read.

Above is my other tradition, the garland made of glass beads has been on my tree every year since 1944, my first Christmas after I married and moved out, mother gave them to me. The garland is about 3 feet long and a few of the glass beads are peeling paint and cracked but they still hang there.

Bells and  toes by accident, I laid my bells on the glass table and SNAPPED! then I took the pic into PIP CAMERA below and got rid of the toes and added bows.
After that I created the double bells at the top...

The double bells I adore. And I like your little tootsies as well! Your ageless Santa is beautiful, surrounded by twinkling lights. And he is double the fun because I can see him in the glass, too. The very last picture is beautiful. Favorite tonight is the double bells.

I remember Santa's that looked like that which isn't surprising since I was around in 1965. It's amazing how many memories we can find in a box of Christmas decorations. Love the bead garland. The bells are great with or without the toes :)

Hello, it is wonderful to have these ornaments from your mom and when your sons were born. The bead garland is pretty. I love Santas. The bells and edited photos are beautiful. Have a happy day and weekend. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

That is a sweet Santa. You have reminded me of my Daddy fussing at me, "I TOED you, and TOED you to finish your work!" (With his GA accent, he tended to leave out the "L")

We were looking through a Vermont Country Store Catalog and saw a lot of the old wax Santa and caroling candles that we have from the fifties. Your Santa reminds me of the wax one we have.
Happy Holidays

Gosh, 1965 doesn't seem that long ago. At all!
Aside from the clay gingerbread couple my boss gave Tom and me in '03, I've no ornaments ... except those that live in my memory.

I have a lot of memory makers on my tree.
To me that's the best part of decorating..thinking about the places we've gone and the people who made the ornaments.

It's all so very beautiful. Enjoy these days with your family. Mom still has this very cheap and colorful plastic Nativity that her Mom put up every Christmas in the 60's. She won't consider getting a newer or better one. We understand.
