Turn Your Radio ON

A few of you may remember what a RADIO is... As I drove home from Wal-Mart the two guys that were supposed to be playing country music, were chatting and joking. I laughed all the way home.

They were discussing Valentine Day and one said

#1 .... "How long have you been married?"

#2..... "17 years! for 12 of those I've been LOCKED in, we have 3 kids under 12. OH NO, Sorry baby, I love you"

#1  said"What did you get your wife for Valentines Day?"

#2 said "I built her a rocking chair, solid steel with cushions, and now she wants a front porch"

#1 said " Just one rocker? what about one for you?"

# 2... "I have no idea, but she keeps giving me gifts like Sky Diving Lessons and a Chance to drive on Nascar"
#1 "well if the next gift is a dive with the sharks trip, we will know"

There is more but you get the gist of it. They talked and laughed and I listened and laughed until I had tears in my eyes.
I like a lot of NPR, we have 2 stations. Depends on what they are.

When was the last time you listened to the radio?
Car or Home?

What did you listen to?

Do you prefer Talk Show or Music while driving?.

I don't listen to the radio much any more because I can't hear it. If the volume is down I can't hear it and if I turn it up I usually can't really understand what they are saying or singing. Instead I sing or talk to myself. I can be pretty funny sometimes too :)

Everyday.
We are fortunate to have a local station which I teethed on. It is very community orientated and the music genre is 'oldies'. What's not to like?
However, most of the time I don't listen on the radio. I have an app that streams it to my phone. Why do we call them phones?
Anyway, it's always with me and saves electric---win, win.

I never listen at home (unless the cricket is on). In the car, I use it mainly for traffic reports. It is set at BBC Radio Scotland. YAM xx

This is so uncanny, Sandra! I will be posting about radio in the mot too distant future. Grant didn't like radio; only listened to CD's in the car. Since I've been alone, I have a radio at home, I listen to the car radio on the way to work and also have one in the shop! All on South African radio stations. We've had a lot (I mean a LOT) happening in SA in the last three days and I enjoyed hearing it all on radio. Have a great day. Jo

Hello, I like listening to the car radio if I am driving by myself. My hubby will change the channel as soon as a commercial or talking starts, he only likes to listen to the music. Have a happy day!

Funny! Yes I listen to the radio a lot, either NPR or talk radio OR I listen to my music playlists on Spotify OR I listen to lectures on YouTube. Depends on what I'm doing.

I never listen to the radio anymore, but I notice that my neighbors listen every day. Mother used to enjoy dramas and comedies on the radio while she worked in the kitchen (in the 1950's)

Those 2 dj's sound funny, indeed. (Do they still call them dj's?)
I've NO idea why ... but a couple years ago I turned off all the audio in my car and discovered I love to drive (1 hr. each way, give or take) in complete silence.

If I'm home alone -- the only time the TV's not blaring -- I'll usually ask Alexa to play something peppy. I love the old, 'real' Country, but recently I'm loving ABBA's greatest hits or the Four Seasons.

Very funny! I listen to the radio in the car. Mostly classic rock. I've even turned my grandkids into rock fans, much to their parents' dismay.

Timely post, Sandra, as my favorite listening has been to podcasts in the mornings while walking on the gym treadmill. While it's not exactly radio as generally referred to, it still requires listening and I can find a wide variety of topics from crime dramas, romance, short stories. That said, we still listen to NPR broadcasts while driving, but rarely listen to AM anymore. Yet when I was growing up it was all we listened to and when we lived in VA we listened to a local radio station all the time.

MS what a great post and a funny conversation. I love the radio. We listen to it a lot too. All during breakfast and in the afternoon. When I'm up here I either have on the local country channel or Pandora streaming country or 50's and 60's music

Don't listen as much as I used to, but try to catch one Christian program each day. Many days I end up listening to that program via internet.

That was fun conversation! I seldom listen to the radio. I am usually playing CD's in my car and at home. The only time I actually listen to the radio is when they have non stop Christmas music playing.

The only time we listen to the radio is in the car. Phil likes NPR. I like music, and some talk. We both like Spirit FM. and the old rock songs like Beatles and such. At home, our Direct T.V. has about 25 channels and each one has a different kind of music on it. Like big band, show tunes, 70's rock, the British Invasion. I listen to those a LOT instead of the radio. Because it is easier, and I can pick and choose the music. There is no talk or ads, just straight songs. Wish I could have heard these guys!

The radio is on when we get in the car...always...
I would prefer music but Dave wins out with talk radio....sometimes it's good
but I get so impatient with a lot of the people that call in.
One of my favorites is Tom Sullivan and his great ability to explain the happenings of our world.
I get so tired of the loud commercials too.
When I am home I usually have my CD's playing while I'm putzing around on the computer.

If I'm alone, driving, it's cd's....and loud!

We used to listen to two guys early in the a.m....good show (talk show). I won a trip for two to disneyland by being the 5th caller ... and then answering their question correctly.

Which was :'nfl players were asked who they'd want for a mother that was a celebrity?'

I listened to the radio today! I listen every day, while I'm doing kitchen stuff. I only listen to our public radio station. Today, I heard parts of Morning Edition, Science Friday, and All things Considered.

We also listen to podcasts of the old Cartalks. I love Tom and Ray. I'm so glad that Tom's contagious laugh is preserved forever by his radio broadcasts!

I loved that conversation between the two DJs on your station!

I enjoyed the drive around your neighborhood in pictures sweet Sandra. I listened to oldies country music on the radio in my home a few weeks ago. I do not like listening to anything while driving unless I am on a long trip then I listen to country music on the radio. Not the whole trip though, I enjoy the quiet inside the car. Hugs

I love driving and seat shooting! Staying in the car seat to shoot. I love it. I don't shoot though the window though I always angle the car so I can have the window down and shoot through that......I need to do some more seat shooting, been awhile!
