Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!! Is there ANYWHERE they cannot get? I would have had to send hubby out to kill it. Even if it eats bad things. You are brave to even keep it around. If I saw him, I would do a lot more than HIssssssss. Like scream, run, take an emergency blood pressure pill, THEN faint. Even if you jump on something high, they can get there!!

I have no problem with snakes - especially benign ones. I think your yard is blessed to have this critter! YAM xx

I'm OK with snakes so long as they keep their distance. Seeing this reminds me of when I was a kid. My mom and I were outside talking to the neighbor in her front yard. Suddenly she started yelling and shaking her leg. While we were standing there a snake started slithering up her leg.

Hello, neat captures of your black snake. I do not mind the harmless snakes, they are good to have around the yard. The fence is a weird place for the snake to climb. Enjoy your day!

It seems to look like a branch caught in the mesh at first glance. Your words set the scene. Yup a skinny black snake. Wonder what kind it is? Nice photos.

Well....that was interesting! haha....never seen a snake weave in and out of a fence before. In the 25 yrs I have lived on the creek I have never seen but about 5 snakes. A few garter snakes is all. Course, I ran over one in the front yard yrs ago and cut him up with the mower...OUCH!

good g-g-gravy Marie! how I hate snakes-s-s-s!!

I've never been troubled by snakes maybe because they are few and far between here.
A favorite family story is the time our son's garter snake got loose in the house and the RG told him two things. It will show up on the basement floor shortly and most importantly DON'T TELL YOUR SISTER. hahaha

If they clear up the rodents then they can only be a good thing, that is if they are not poisonous. Thank goodness we only have them out in the coutryside and then they are very rarely seen.

YIKES! Jus' seeing these pictures makes me squirm. It's good that you can tell the difference between venomous and non. Jake doesn't try and approach, does he? I'm afraid our pups wouldn't have the common sense not to leave one alone.

PS - Our new pest control tech was just here and I shared my fears ... he recommends sprinkling moth balls around the perimeter to keep snakes away.

Oh Sandra - we had one of those in our yard too - not poisonous - but SCARY nonetheless!

I would never expect to sssssssee a sssssnake woven into a fence! I love your attitude toward sssssnakes. Sssssso many people kill them and ask questions later. Way to go, Mad Sssssssssssssnapper!
