Jake, our Gif/Gift

Our precious Jake is not doing well, he paces and pants for hours, we are pretty sure it is mental, as in dementia or something like it. He eats like a horse, does his outside jobs well, drinks enough water. He just can't seem to stay down. He lays down and 60 seconds later is up pacing.

Madi's Mom emailed me that she has a friend whose dog is doing that and they use Calm Pup. We are giving him GNC Ultra Mega Calming Formula, they are beef chews and he loves them and they do help. I was close to tears last night as he paced for 3 hours before bedtime. He exhausted himself and managed to sleep most of the night.  I would appreciate prayers for him and for us to..

I love to send animated gifs to friends, there are millions of them out there and I can find one for every subject. I want to Make My Own.
Can anyone of you make a gif? I made Jake Spin using Lunapic. But not exactly what I want. I want to do one like this..

for any one who wants to know the ingredients in the calming treats.

POTP at work from me to Jake (and his pawrents)... my Jade did that pacing thing in her final months so I know the angst.

As to GIFs - I have a difficult relationship with them as my head can't handle watching them, even though I very occasionally use them on the blog. That said, I know lots of folks who like them. This website is free to use. You need several different images of Jake in different poses to upload. YAM xx

Poor Jake and poor you. How hard it is to watch them like that. I'm glad the treats help him some.
I've made GIF's before in PSE but it's been a long time. I know it requires a lot of pictures

Hello, sending prayers for you and Jake. I Like the GIF's especially Jake's!
I know you are worried, wish I could help. We do not like having our furbabies feeling bad.

Oh Sandra I just got home from walking and errands.
I'm so very very sorry to read about Jake...bless his sweet soul and the hearts of his mom and dad.
I do hope and pray the Vet's RX will turn him around and give him the quality of life he deserves as a Senior pup...being on the couch is one of the things he dearly loves. Most of all i hope that VET has learned a very valuable lesson from this too. Yes there should have been a waiver offered.
We love the animation.
Hugs and kitty kisses madi and Mom

Gorgeous portrait, you did a masterful job of creativity with it.. Are you going to try the Calm Pup too? I know this is just so hard; for both of you. And I have been praying for both of you. I wonder if it is uncomfortable for him to lay down for any length of time? Not only do I not know how to make a gif, I don't even know what it is!!!!

Prayers for your boy......
I agree it must be mental. Our mother is doing much the same as your Jake. Except she’s in a wheel chair. She goes through her drawers and wads clothes up and makes stacks and moves the stacks. She wheels herself down to Lillian’s room and back and forth. They gave her some extra medicine to calm her down and it did. She’s still doing the same things but slower and she is much more calm and pleasant.

Poor, dear, Jake. Yes Ixve made animated gifs through my paintshop software. You need several images of different poses...line them up...set the timing...save as gif.

I do not know how to make a gif. Sorry.

Hey I will pray for all of you.

You know I used to work in special ed. And when the kids got stressed they used to put on weighted vests. Now I have been seeing them for pets advertised on television - maybe he could benefit from one of them - it is for calming them down.

It would be hard for them to have dementia. I am so sorry.

Love, sandie

I've been through that pacing cycle with two of my dogs. Both are gone now, but it was tough on all of us. I do hope the calming formula helps Jake.

Mom Kim here - I am going to suggest something a little different only because of the Beagles back and muscular problems. Pacing, panting and not being able to settle can be a sign of back problems which doesn't quite make sense to me , I mean if my back is hurting I want to lay down but it is the pain that drives them to get back up. Same way if it was some kind of gastric problem. However, you have been to see Jake's vet - you got new meds and I pray that will help you all. I know how hard this time is - watching your sweet Jake - I went through it with my Shiloh and I'm starting to go through it with Lady Shasta

As for the GIFS or anything like that - Lunapic and Pizap are my best friends.

Sending prayers and hugs for you and Jake and my Ladiez send out their Beagle Aroooz through the skies and POTP.
