Tall Tail Tale

Liam got his tail back, who knows how. I checked on line and it takes 60 days for an anole to regenerate the tail, the original tail has breaks, so they can drop it and get away from Jakeosaurus Jake. They can only grow a new tale once.
Male anoles have a pink colored throat fan (called a dewlap), which is used in both territorial and courtship displays.

Come over here, Lady Lizard, all iguana do is hold your hand foot. brahaha

If you don't remember Liam minus his tail, scroll to bottom of this link, it was gone . It disappeared the first part of April and now 2 months later Voila.... almost back to normal. SORRY FOLKS, this is all I got.... I live under a ROCK...… maybe that is why we love our lizards.

Good for Liam! And I hope the adventure taught him to keep well away from the Jakeosaurus. (Does Liam know that he can only regrow his tail once??)

So a cat has nine lives, but the lizard has only two tails?
Liam needs to be more careful!

Hooray for Liam. I hope he keeps his tail this time. He better be extra careful or it will mean the end of his tail

Great to hear he got his tail back. I did not realize they only had the ability to grow them back once. You live and learn.

Liam is one handsome Anole. I didn't know about the dewlap. Very interesting.
OMCs mom said she hopes if she looses some of her tush it doesn't grow back

Liam is a happier lizard with his new tail. Looking very handsome for the females. I did not know they could grow another tail. Enjoy your day!

Only once huh? That is interesting. Well you know then that he has never lost a tail before and that this will be his only time to grow one back.Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I love seeing the progress of Liam and all the critters you share with us.
I think the cats from the neighborhood like our yard because we have a buffet of lizards scooting around.
It's such an interesting world we live in.
Gonna be another hot one today...100F+++

We love to watch ours in our courtyard. We have a black cover over our grill and guess what...a black lizard stays on it all the time! It's neat to see them. Not nice when they bite at each other though! lol Thanks for your sweet comment today and sending a friend over. Lots of hugs!

Congratulations Liam, hope that you are able to keep this one. Loved watching his progress and formation of a brand new tail. Thanks for the share, hope you have a nice rest of your summer. Keep up the posts!

YAY, Liam! He does look rather proud of himself, don't you think?
Perhaps you and Bob can sell his movie rights to the folks at Disney? Personally, I think an anole is far more entertaining than a flying elephant.

I remember how one of my previous cats loved to snap off the lizard's tail. Rarely, do we see any of these here. Interesting info you provided.

I wondered if Liam was going to be able to grow an new tail...good for him and I hope he has no more encounters to take away his tail. Hugs

There's nothing wrong with living under a rock, Sandra, at least you can keep cool! And now I know more than I did about Liam's tale regenerating.

Interesting. We have many that are missing tales because of Skye.

Sorry? Why you just gave me a tale about Liam’s tail. I loved it. Tjanks for the lesson on some species’ tails and of course Liam guy’s pink throat needed for dating lol.
