Walk A Mile Shadows

More of my Walk a Mile a day photos... I am actually walking a Mile and a Half but whos counting? I AM, that's who.

Now I look a little thinner than the pic yesterday, the shadow I mean. Have you ever seen a street with cracks paved with tar? Now you have! I have never seen this before... Not sure if the people on the street repaired the cracks or the city....  it is interesting though.

We had  a COLD snap... Saturday Am woke up to 69 degrees, I said Phooey THEY said we would wake up to 63, so where is it?   I walked in Wal-mart at 6:30 and it was 69 degrees on my car temp. At 8:15 I walked and nearly Froze... the wind was howling in from the NORTH and it was 63 degrees, all in that short time, the wind made it feel like 53... YAY for Cold Weather. You can stop laughing now. It was COLD to me... not so bad with all the brilliant sunshine though.

I am not 12 feet tall, I have on leggings and a long top. this is NOT a stick figure draw by a child.

These repaired cracks sure look strange. I bet kids could make a good jumping game out of them; sort of like hopscotch. I have never seen them before until earlier this year. Then we came across some. But nothing so intricate as in your last picture!! Shadows always seem to make people look bigger and scary.

They do that here sometimes, too. Those cracks.
Well, you LOOK like a stick figure in the shadow!
I'm with you! I love to feel chilly and that isn;t happening much around here. I sweated today and there's something WRONG about sweating in November! So guess what I did? I turned the attic fan on and it brought the cooler air inside the house. When that doesn;t work, I turn on the window AC unit. I just don't like to have the central AC on when Louis Dean is up on the roof because I can't hear him if he needs me. And I would not be able to hear if he fell off. Now that didn't sound right, did it??

At least the cracks have been filled in. Here in our suburban streets there are potholes that you could disappear into (slight exaggeration), but the council responsible for road maintenance rarely come to repair them. Your shadows are fun.

I've seen them do that with the roads around here.
In the first picture, your shadow makes you look like you have pig tails. I thought when did she get long heair. Then I realized it was your arms holding the camera up in front of your face.

Hello, Sandra!

You are looking skinny. I have seen the road repairs like this, I think it is the cheap way of fixing the cracks. Your 60 degree weather sounds more like our temps. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day.

In OZ, the roads are often repaired this way as the heat of summer cracks them open; it's quick, cheap and saves tyres from shredding! Love your shadow against the pattern... YAM xx

69 and freezing you say. Don't head up our way. LOL I have a friend who moved to Palm City from NJ. Last week she was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO enjoying that lovely 69 degrees.
That paving almost looks like hopscotch. now lets see the Mad Snapper hop to it

Those tar repairs are a waste of time around here with the amount of rains we get! The water seeps in the cracks & it's no better than before. The brilliance of city engineers. lol

Yep, I can totally understand the 'cold'.

I totally 'get' what you mean about feeling cold. Let 'em laugh! Heck, we began bundling up when the temp dropped below 70.

Those patterns on the road look like a giant hop-scotch mat! I recall the tar-pot crews working to repair the roads in my hometown. Only, the roads were already black so it wasn't so noticeable.

I have seen that before - but for the life of me I can't remember if it is here yesterday or in Chicago - I don't pay attention that well. lol

So you had your one day of cold weather - it is raining like cats and dogs here today.

Have a good one.

In the first picture I took those repair-lines to be shadows as well!

I remember when we lived in the San Francisco Bay Area...
Hot was 80F and we thought we would die of heat stroke if it lasted more than a few days.
Now in the Sacramento, CA area when the temps get into the 60'dF we are freezing and I am sitting here right now with a sweater on because I'm cold..It's 69 F in the house and will be in the mid 70's later today (outside)
Temps summer time are in the high 90's usually. But we don't have the humidity you guys have.
Love your "Skinny" photos and I love the long shadows this time of year too.
Too much birthday...oh my...
Now back to serious business.

I have never seen a road repaired like that, but it is an interesting pattern. Love the shadows!

You sure cast a tall shadow sweet Sandra. I have never seen a street repaired like that either. Good for you walking a mile and a half. Hugs

They repair cracks in Texas the same way...making the street look like a tic tac toe board LOL! Love all your shadows!

That's crazy, do they plan on repaving the street anytime soon??
