There was a man cutting the grass in this yard that is all decorated with Snowmen that will not melt, and snowflakes in the Palm tree. I smiled and waved and he stopped the lawn mower, I started yada yada, blah blah chatty cathy style... and he smiled and bobbled his head and replied In Spanish, neither of us knew what the other said, but he knew I loved the decorations.
I HAD NO IDEA, he was the lawn man... heh heh heh.. he had no idea what I was saying or Why I was Taking Photos of the decorations..

How hilarious!! I had thought these were stars, but I think you are right and they are snowflakes. It really looks strange to see all this in Florida beside a palm tree and green grass. But a great find!!!
Teeheehee, I love seeing Snowmen in Florida!!
I like this display. There is even snow in the little Christmas trees.
I'm laughing picturing you chatting away with the lawn guy

this reminds me of folk in OZ who always insisted on putting up fake snow on their windows and such like... I was part of a movement to make Christmas fit for the Aussie summer by using a Eucalpyt branch as the tree and decorating with other bush plants and images of native animals. After all, Bethlehem is in a country of heat and dust... YAM xx
Hello,
I like the snowman, it is cute. I say kudos to all the people who decorate their yards. I am lucky if I decorate and put up my tree. Enjoy your day!
Well hello Mr. Snowman...you are quite handsome and of course I approve of your neck...wear
Hugs Cecilia
I don’t know of anything that will stop you from yadda, yadda, not even a different language! We have one really big Christmas tree and - *gasp* - I did not put it up this year! I’m thinking next year I’ll put it in the front yard with a lo if lights and all weather mesh ribbons on it! I noticed flocked ones in that yard! What a great idea!
I know they're not so popular anymore … but gosh, I miss flocked trees! That display is amazing; I especially like the snowflakes' touch. Surprised no porch pirates have tried to steal the 'gifts.'
P.S. - Your new header is beautiful!
You may have spoke different languages, but you had the same heart...LOL
One Christmas, this neighbor two doors down had family from Russia come...we were younger then. A little older than them, but not by a lot. Neither of them spoke a bit of English and of course we did not speak their language. But she had a book to translate with...and we managed and got on like a house afire. She was a kindergarten teacher, and I forget what her husband did. Their little girl was around 5 or 6...I wish we had exchanged addresses...I think of her several times a year....
Well, I smile goes a long way and both of your hearts were filled with joy because of it.
Love the un-meltable snowman and snowflakes in the palm tree.
Busy day again today..down to church to prep and serve food to the 400+ volunteers for the multiple "Christmas Eve" services the church puts on. Tonight is # 6 & 7 of 15.
The decorations are pretty and ,yes, they won’t melt.
Cute story and those decorations are lovely. The gentleman must have appreciated you stopping and being so friendly. I will always remember the conversation I had with a German couple on holiday many years ago. We ended up in a crowded area at the same table having coffee, and we had the greatest conversation, even though they spoke no English and I spoke no German. Lots of sign language and our smiles spoke volumes.
That was funny - well he is trying to have a white Christmas.
That's so funny! The decorations are really cute.
We people in the north seek palm trees to leave behind the snow so it is very amusing to see a snowman that won’t melt under a palm tree.
There are many Christmas songs and films that mention snow and sleighs. Yet Baby Jesus likely had no snow around his area. Interesting how over time Christmas celebrations have evolved.
