The MAD Investigoogler

First let me tell you that I did not invent the word Investigoogling. Last week I read a book I could hardly stand to put down. The book written by Karin Slaughter, titled Pieces of Her, was in my opinion, one of Karins Best.  I found the new word investigoogling in this book.

That Said... you WILL be hearing it once in a while. I have been know to say if I were in school now, I would want to become a Cyber-Detective. I love investigoogling and use it in some way every day of my life.  From this day forward, at times I will be posting as The Mad Investigoogler, Private EYE

From time to time I will post STUFF I found while INVESITGOOGLING.. 👀 see it or hear it and I want to know details.
Today's Stuff is..... Why do THEY call what we use to investigoogle  Wi-Fi?

First I googled define Wi-Fi... Merriam-Webster says, having no wire, operating by transmitted electromagnetic waves
FOUND by further investigoogling, the many things Wi-Fi stands for. HERE. Did you take the magnetic waves by the horns and investigoogle? if so Which one do you like best? do YOU investigoogle?

My favorite is Wireless Internet For Idiots... which is what I must be for using it to create this post.

oooh investigoogling. I like that. It's quite handy to know a private eye personally too.
I've never heard of wireless internet for idiots. It sounds like something I should check out though.

I prefer to Go Ogling... &*>
As an ex-professional geek, I could tell you but will let this fellow, Phil Belanger, a founding member of the Wi-Fi Alliance who presided over the selection of the name say it:

"Wi-Fi doesn't stand for anything.

It is not an acronym. There is no meaning.

Wi-Fi and the ying yang style logo were invented by Interbrand.
We (the founding members of the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance, now called the Wi-Fi Alliance) hired Interbrand to come up with the name and logo that we could use for our interoperability seal and marketing efforts. We needed something that was a little catchier than "IEEE 802.11b Direct Sequence".

I love your 'business card'... and look forward to what else your investigoogling brings forth!!! YAM xx

I like your business card. I would love to have been an investigator - I am trying to have Andy look at Criminal Investigation for college - but alas - he has his mind dead set against it.

I do a lot of investigoogling but never came across that word before. I probably googled WiFi a lot of times, and while the Wi has stuck in my memory by now, I always keep forgetting the Fi... (New suggestion: WIrelessly FIguring IT out)

We say Okay Google on our phones all the time.
Lots of times it's how to spell some odd word.
I find it amazing how fast the answer to what ever pops up.
Love your business card and really look forward to finding out all the tidbits that you discover.
Great post today.

Stephanie Plum and Kinsey Milhone, step aside … there's a new detective in town! To answer your question, I LOVE Wireless Internet for Idiots (because I AM one). Water in the Fuel Indicator was a close second ... but I fear that's setting myself up for a blonde joke.

Back in the 80's there existed an adult 'alternative' learning program where one could take a one-time or one-week class in all sorts of subjects. (For example, reflexology, private eye, etc.) My girlfriend and I did the one-week private eye (taught by actual PI) -- it was SO interesting!
