My Shoes Say Go Walk

and I DID

I have been struggling to lose another pound. I walked twice every day for the past week. I also started a PLAN to break a habit I picked up over the past couple of months. Eating while cooking, peeling, chopping. I would slice a cucumber, pop a piece in my mouth, preparing carrots and cauliflower, pop pieces in my mouth. More than that but this gives the picture.

It takes 21 days to break a habit or to make a habit. I signed a paper stating for 21 days I would eat ONLY what was on a plate, bowl, napkin. In other words Measure and count, place on plate and that is all I can eat. 7 days of this and I was down 1.8 pounds in a weeks time. Nothing can be eaten from a container of any kind unless first counted and placed on a serving plate.
I am now  9.8 pounds Away From My Goal Weight....

YEAH!!! Way to go. I admire your determination. I keep saying that tomorrow I will start on the road back to exercising and eating better. Then I wake up and discover it's not tomorrow yet so I wait. :)

Well, I had some things to say about this, but since you are only nine pounds away, GO for it! It is true that the longer one diets, the harder it is to lose weight. Your body gets used to it. But remember not to lose it too fast, too. I think munching while chopping is fine, if it is healthy vegetables. You just cannot get rid of ALL your joy. You look great, and so do your shoes. You have nice normal thin feet.

You're so smart to figure, something as seemingly insignificant as one or two bites can make a difference!

I'm at an impasse right now -- stuck between wanting to shed these last 5 pounds v. relishing what I enjoy most … eating. Until this last year, I've been so obsessive/compulsive; a real PITA to be around. 'Trying to take a page from you and practice moderation, while stepping up my exercises. Sometimes I catch myself hoping Heaven is just one enormous bakery!

My shoes and boots say "walk" as well, but the weather and roads outside have been saying "stay in"... ;) While I doubt an extra slice of cucumber or carrot will make you put on any weight, I guess you're right about the habit as such (getting used to not counting what one eats while chopping etc). So well done about being determined to change your habits!
