Oh Deer!

Oh Deer, this is a sad story. Four houses around the corner from us, sits this beautiful deer. Sadly it is the only thing left there. The lady who lived there is a hoarder, the kind you see on TV shows. For weeks we have watched as we walk by, the workers in white clothes with ventilators on, clearing things from the inside.

Each day we watched men in white suits, with ventilators on and hoods as they worked for days to remove the things from inside the house.
They has used 2 of the large containers, removing things from outside the house, and 7 containers filled from inside. The furniture was all rolled into the last 2 containers. the first 5 were all boxed goods, as in fryers, and crock pots etch still in the boxes. The containers were the biggest we have ever seen.

They cleaned up the yard and put on a new roof. we are waiting to see what happens next.

Hello,

Men with white suits and hoods, could be asbestos or something bad in the house. I could never be a hoarder. I assume the house will be fixed up and sold? The deer is cute. Have a happy day!

that is such a sweet sculpture; but a sad story too. However, one hopes only positive things are there for the home now. YAM xx

Wow!! Your happenings are our entertainment. You and I are the exact opposite of hoarders. For the men to do so much work, someone must be moving in. I would need the entire place fumigated. And tented. And Lysoled. These are like hugeormous dumpsters. Did there used to be hoarders when we were growing up? Or just not that much media to hear about it? Really interesting post today!!! Do you know what happened to the lady, did she die or move? I know hoarders can get weird diseases from all the dirt and such, I saw this on a hospital show.

My word indeed Oh Deer. I can only imagine the odors.

What a sad situation and for sure an type of mental illness.
I hope and pray there were no pets found in there.
Recently we have heard too many horror stories of hoarders with too many animals then they just leave them. Breaks my heart.

Oh my, that is a sad story. I know I have too much stuff but I'm nor a hoarder. However I do need to get rid of a lot of things because we can't take it with us when we move.

Wow that was a real case of hoarding - I watch the shows on television and they scare me. What would scare me is if they try to resell that house - yikes - there are so many bad things probably growing in there.

Curiouser and curiouser! When my DIL's parents had to be rescued (by boat) from their flooded home, DIL and her siblings discovered what they'd long suspected: their mom was a hoarder. I've not watched any of those television programs, but their stories were almost unbelievable.

Sooo, if the house is being gutted is there any reason you and Bob can't 'relocate' the little deer to your yard?

I find it sad when people resort to hoarding to fill some other need in their life.

You say she 'is' a hoarder...does she still live there? I am curious as to what happened to her.

I hope they found a safe place for her to live and someone is helping her to get better. The deer is cute. Hugs

That is sad. I can't imagine what makes a person get to that point where they can't get rid if anything and feel they need more stuff. Is the woman still living there or did she move out? I wonder if some of the stuff was able to be sold if it was still in the original boxes. I've watched some of those hoarder episodes. It makes me realize I'm nowhere near as bad as I thought I was

Oh my, that is sad. Makes me want to go down into the basement and start cleaning things out. We've been downsizing for sometime now. I remember my mom and dad in this stage, and also my in-laws (not like this I quickly add), but I think we are at that age now where we don't want anyone else to have to do it.
