Sunday Shadow Shots

I am a little sad this week. The house across the street and the one next door, the people who lived there were there when we moved in 29 years ago. The one across the street, the man died, and a few months ago, she went in a home. The other house the wife went in a home 3 months ago and this past week, her husband joined her. The house next door to us, my friend Barbara moved out after 9 years.

now we have 3 empty houses surrounding us. Live Goes On....

The wooden fence is between our house and the neighbor. the chain link is ours. This is the gate we go out to walk Big and to get to the garbage cans. I love to look at the shadows and vines. To me, the tiny shadows on the knob are just to cute for words. A whole lizard tribe lives in there. I love them to.

These tiny leaf shadows on the fence knob are so cute!! Like shadow art. So the lizards live in an art gallery! When people move out of their houses here, I worry about what kind of new neighbors we will get. The lastolder couple across the street seemed so nice, and it turned out he was a psycho. After they moved out, he came back in the middle of the night, went in, and drilled holes all over the ceiling up into the roof.

They look like they have been stencilled on. so pretty.
Let's hope you get nice new neighbours, it's always a bit of a worry isn't it?

I love the shadow shots. It is sad to see neighbors go. My dad feels that way where he lives. All his friends are in retirement homes now and new people have of course moved in around him. It's just not the same for him. He's thinking maybe he should go so he would have more socializing going on in his life.

I love your shadows! I’m a sister shadow lover myself!
Yes, neighborhoods change as residents pass away or move to retirement homes. I hope Louis Dean and I can stay in our home until the very end. All of our immediate neighbors are younger than we. At one point there were three vacant houses in a row across the street. All three have been restored, repaired and occupied by younger families although only one next door neighbor still has children at home.
Things are always changing......

Oh Sandra, how sad.
Life does go on but that's a pretty big hole in your heart in such a short amount of time.
3 houses empty...truly sad.
This getting old is difficult sometimes.
Love your shadows on the knob too...they look like decals.
Thanks for the compliment on my lipstick in that portrait photo.
You're not going to believe what it is...
It's Chapstick..Total Hydration...Moisture + tint the color is Merlot
I love it and it goes on so smooth and lasts a long time. It has been hard to find, but I finally got another tube yesterday at Walmart. There it was hanging on an end cap...there are 3 other tints too but I like this one for my coloring. $4.95 but it lasts a very long time as I only wear it when I go someplace...at home I'm just Plain Jane...(:0)

Like the others have said, that fence 'knob art' is so cool. Love what Ginny said about the lizards living in an art gallery. Yep, sure beats anything a paint brush might try to replicate!
