Nope! not Wordless Wed

I don't do movie reviews. From past experience I know that my movie favorites are not usually your movie favorites. Action, Thrillers etc. But I do LOVE A GOOD STORY....

Bob and I watched The Upside, Saturday night. It was on Prime Showtime Channel. and the night before Troop Zero....

Both movies lead me to believe there are still good people in this silly old world.

They are stories with a a beginning and an end and we felt so good after we watched them.. A few times we laughed until we had tears in our eyes on The Upside.

Nothing beats an uplifting movie... we watched one a couple of weeks back called... errrrrr... oh yes, MacFarland USA. 2015 movie, Kevin Costner lead, based on true story. EXCELLENT!!! Even dad had the hanky out at one stage as we cheered for the underdogs. One of those films where the actual people are shown at the end and you hear what the did with their lives after the events depicted. Truly worth a look if you have not already done so. YAM xx

We enjoy watching a good movie together especially as we can't get out for health reasons. One that's amusing or where there's a story and action, but no violence. They don't make many movies these days that we would want to go to the cinema to see even if we could. We have to be content with what we get on our television channels and very thankful we have the recording box so we can pick something and then watch at our leisure - helps us rest in an afternoon as well as being entertained.

I started to watch Troop Zero but I couldn't get into it. Even though there are a ton of movie choices with Prime I rarely watch any of them. I did watch quite a few Christmas movies though. Maybe I need to start having a movie night.

Hello,

I like an uplifting and inspiring or a comedy movie. I do not have Prime now, maybe when we end the Netflix. Have a happy day!

I like movies. And the ones that make me laugh are very enjoyable. I like slapstick & situation comedies too.

And I think there are more good people than we realize. (It's just the 'bad' that gets coverage.)

I soooo wish Tom would kick Netflix to the curb! I'd not heard of either of these films, but Troop Zero's already on my tablet's watchlist. Because I've only a Prime membership (v. Prime Showtime) The Upside's unavailable, unless I want to buy it for $14.99 or subscribe to Showtime. (Pondering …)
Thanks for doing these reviews. Now I don't have to plug my ears when Tom's watching CNN. (*grin*)

Have you seen Instant Family? We loved that one and you're right....it's hard to find movies with a good story, start to finish. I'll write down the ones you watched! Hugs!

I am going to look for it! It sounds good. Did you watch Steel Magnolias? There are a few lines that crack me up any time I watch it...

I wish Dave was a movie "watcher".
So we really aren't up to date on most of them. Saw the previews for both of the movies you are talking about. Looked cute and uplifting.
Maybe I can talk him into seeing these...Fat Chance!

Our library has started offering 2 free streaming services, Hoopla and Kanopy, and library patrons can steam or download films. This week I watched The Illusionist (Hoopla) and Bookshop (Kanopy) and enjoyed both films. We also have Netflix, and while I watch some shows there I prefer Acorn TV streaming which does change an annual fee ($60). We don't subscribe to any cable services, but can watch some on the air programming by using a digital antenna on our apt window. My choice of movies are romance, comedy, drama. I steer clear of horror, sci-fi, thrillers.
