I Love Dollar Tree

Above is a box that I purchased at Dollar Tree to hold all the remotes, this is the living room, I put another in the bedroom.

In a search for toliet paper, I tried Dollar Tree, Nada, not one sheet.

I saw the boxes and grabbed 2,

I hit the cleaning supplies and found one,

while wandering finding nothing on my list, I heard the clerk say to someone, we don't have TP and the paper towels will be gone in a few minutes. I grabbed 2.

While grabbing things I did not come to buy, A little old lady, littler and older than this old lady, asked me if I knew where the shampoo was. I said at the end of this aisle, follow me. She said do you know where I can find that liquid stuff you wash clothes with? I said Oh you mean Detergent! She glowed with a smile and said That's Right.

I pointed to it and she said it will be garbage but it will clean my clothes. We walked together towards the shampoo. I picked up 2 bars of soap, she said OH I need bar soap too, and picked up 2.

When we got to the shampoo I pointed and she said I am embarrassed, when I asked about shampoo I meant detergent but could not remember what it was called. I have plenty of shampoo. I held out my paper towels, she said OH YES where are they?

I had a blast, we chated and shopped and were not 6 feet away from each other. I figured we were both OLD so should be safe!

we got to the cashier and while I Paid 8.60 for 8 items when I only came for one item, she said You were a wonderful shoppers aid, if I call you will you meet me here the next time I shop?
NOTE! this was from 3 weeks ago BEFORE the enforced incarceration shelter in place order. Just so you know

This kinda story is a feel-good kind. I like it. I haven't been to a Dollar Tree in ages, but I like it too. Now, that reminds me...I need liquid hand soap. Do they have any there y'wonder?

Hello,

I have not been to Dollar Tree in a long time. We always think of more to buy when we are at the store. I like your shopping story, she will remember you being kind and helpful. Take care, enjoy your day!

I'm a Dollar Tree addict. I love that store. That was so sweet of you to help that lady with her shopping. There's a little old man that comes in our store and every now and then he'll come to me with his list and ask me to help him find something. He's the sweetest and I'm always happy to help him.

I'm embarrassed to admit, I only discovered the joys of Dollar Tree shopping a couple years ago. I usually come out of the store counting all the items in my bags and feeling like a jolly bandit. Love their junior size toothpaste (fits perfectly in my mom's old crudité dish) and greeting cards, too. I'm not a fan of cards, but sometimes they're like, obligatory. And, absurdly expensive anywhere else.

What a blessing you were to that sweet older lady!

Things like me make me feel so good. A bit of kindness sure goes a long way.
I hope she has someone to get things for her now that everyone is in isolation. Its so difficult when the thought processes are a little faulty.
Take care friend...we will get through this..

Yes, Dollar Tree is a great place to shop especially for all the cards I buy there. It was very nice of you to help the other customer and your both seemed to have a delightful time going around the store. Too bad it may have been a one time meet-up, especially now with the stay at home orders. BTW thanks for the comment on my post about my brother's birthday. He is my only sibling and 3 years younger.

I am sure you made a lasting impression on this lady. Sometimes it takes so little to make another person’s day.

Shopping for us elders can feel like a mine field at times, especially when we can't find our car in the parking lot. My friends and I laugh at ourselves when we can't remember the name of something then 15 minutes later blurt it out. But the kindness of stangers is always so appreciated and a welcome blessing. Younger people forget that we're all on the same conveyor belt.

Six to eight rolls of toilet paper. And our stores are usual bare.

I love this post. I would have enjoyed helping as would Buddy. We have no TP shortage in our stores where we shop but pockets of our city have felt a surge on such. What is amusing is it is happening globally where TP is used.
We have had staying in for over 3 weeks now. And we can only go on walks with up to 5 members living under the same address .Fines are given for not complying. Not sure this will actually get that virus from being less destructive in this way because then you get more domestic issues.
