Those thorns looks pretty ominous..I don't think I will be climbing that one. The flowers are lovely and pretty for this very dull and gloomy day here on the West Coast. Suppose to have much needed rain this afternoon, and snow in the mountains. Needed there too. Sue
I have missed your posts that expand my horizons, tickle my funny bone and sometimes provide an update on your life. With Hubby's help troubleshooting to reconnect to blogger, I hope to start posting soon.
That really is an amazing tree!! I think it's a wonderful gift you have....you appreciate nature and all that your eyes see. And I do believe your eyes see much more than mine.
Ps...our house is brick with cement foundation, not Adobe (entirely different). The soil in Texas is all clay. Foundations will crack when too dry. In turn interior walls will crack and houses can sink some. That's when the foundation is raised & piers are put in place to level the house again.

WOW, thorns all over the trunk, and gorgeous big flowers. Truly amazing!! I can see this growing back when there were dinosaurs.
Yes, wow! I had never heard of them before. They're gorgeous, but I don't think I would want one even if the climate were right.
we love that tree... how bad that they are not growing here...
That tree sure knows how to protect itself.
What an interesting tree! The flowers are so pretty and the thorns are amazing. It's a tree that I've never heard of before. It's fascinating.

Hello,
I have seen those trees somewhere in Florida, I love the pretty blooms.
Take care, have a happy Friday and a great weekend!
The Kopok Tree flower looks like an orchid on a branch. And the last collage oh my is doing a good unicorn impression

I love those, they are so cool!
Wow! Now I recall having seen these and thinking it looks like a stone age reptilian. Love its blossom, however. Weary and faded, but still pretty.
I would love to see this in real life...it looks like something someone as dreamed up with all those thorns. The flowers are beautiful.
Someone else posted a pic of one just the other day but I cannot think who.
Scaly and scary, with blossoms.
