Above is our neighbors back yard, I took this over the fence. No one has been in that yard for 15 plus years. It has gone to Sub Tropic Jungle. Every tree is covered with 2 types of Pothos, the building is a shed with no access and to its right there is a house but we can no longer see it.
The photo below are the vines on OUR side of the fence. they must be hacked and pulled at least once a month. Bob has always kept them out of our yard.
His knees are bad and he can't keep up and refuses to hire someone.

In uk we had 6 adjoining properties - one was overrun with ivy and one with blackberries (prickly scrambling brambles). Both invaded our garden but never like that. You must feel under seige at times.
Maybe a gardener will help to clean up ...

I would say this fits on nature gone wild! The birds and other critters must love that garden, neighbors not so much?
It's too bad there isn't someone you could call. They should have to take care of that especially since it's growing into your yard.
If something like this is in our city people can report it to the city...they come out & post a warning sign...giving the owner (if there is an owner) 30 days to clean it up ... If not, the city does the work & charges the owner. Somebody has to have a deed to the property, right? In Corpus, they consider an unkempt yard a health hazard.
Wow, it is a jungle. It is a shame the people do not take care of their yard and plants.

O.M.G.... It is true here also that the council can be called and measures taken against the unkempt. It takes into account any possible trauma of the owner/s which may have resulted in the mess. If it is considered purely negligence, then the full force is laid upon them. This is not about having a 'nature garden' or simply frilly edges, such as I would like - that's full-on we don't/can't care.

At least the Pothos are pretty plants but I agree with others. Call to report it, the city will make them clean it up. Can you maybe spray Round Up to kill off the ones that have invaded your property?
I was going to say, better than the kudzu -- but from the looks of that yard. Yikes! I'd be really suspect of snakes. Please let us know if y'all decide to call the City and what they say.

WOW! Why do not take care of their yard? Do you have regulations in your neighborhood? We do, if people don't mow and it reaches a certain height, the city will come and mow it and then bill you for it. So it helps things from getting too bad. Would hate to have to see that all the time. And your poor hubby. That's hard work, I know; cause I do the bulk of yard work here. With each passing year I try to think of ways to minimize all the landscaping. I've not been successful so far though. Hope you're staying well and safe from this Covid and are able to get your shots soon, if you've not already been successful at doing so.

Hello Sandra, I thought my garden was overgrown, but this one does looks like a jungle. I'm guessing that your neighbours are too old and frail to take care of it, but you have got to say something to them. On the other hand, if you haven't seen anyone in the jungle for 15 years, the property is probably vacant, so call the City Council, and they will deal with it, and save Bobs knees.
HA - that sounds exactly like the yard we just posted about on Beau's blog. We keep trying to trim the weeds back from our side of the yard, and now the dead tree's branches are hanging in ours. Mom says we are going get the rest of our trees trimmed and shaped soon, and we have the right to cut back anything that hangs over our yard. Neighbors won't be happy:(

Sounds like most of the previous commenters agree on what I would also have suggested, to see if the homeowners of that yard can be made to clean up that invasive plant. It reminds me of kudzu which runs rampant in many states.
Yikes! I am not a narc by any means but Lord that is ridiculous. We have renters next door to us. THe 50 plus year old tree in the front yard was going to harm someone when it fell. The owner is in an assisted living (he is the one who planted 1000's of trees 50 plus years ago!!!!!) But he has a real estate office handle the rental and they make the renters keep up and the owner pays for tree removal etc. I am shocked no one cares but yet someone has to own the property and pay taxes on it. Good luck. They need some serious help. I hope you can reach someone who can help that the owner to clean that mess up!
That is one crazy yard. We don't have any pothos outside but I do have a few plants inside. I like your sections outside.
