Chocolate Waterfall Gone Wild

 Chocolate Cascade

Each night I drink a cup of hot chocolate. Yes, even in summer. It has no sugar added, and has over 400 g of potassium, which I need and also is like having something sweet to end my day.

I use a glass cup, prior post you may have seen it/

We took Beau out after dinner, came back in, and I picked up the brimming and oh so hot cup of Chocolate.
Beau headed for his water bowl and I saw it was EMPTY.
Yelling HE HAS NO WATER, and
Without thinking of anything but the poor dog had no water, I walked past the table while at the same time sitting the cup down on the edge of the table, my finger remained inside  the handle and over it went.

Torrents of Chocolate,  cascaded over 2 feet of the glass table, it poured a river of chocolate that ran off onto the arms of two chairs, trickled onto the Nikon 600 that lives in the chair below.

the floor looked like  a volcano of chocolate had erupted,

It was on my feet, and  how 8 oz of hot chocolate covered so much space is unknown to me.
Also unknow to me, is how it got UNDER the glass table, as in on the glass, meaning I had to clean the glass over and under.

Now the NIKON works well except on the setting of Sport, which is what I use all the time, when I take a photo, it takes it so dark it can't be seen. uploads as a black smear.
how could it get on one setting and not the others?

All the other settings work perfectly.
I had to clean the camera.
(there was enough dust and grime on the camera, that it made chocolate glue)

Just hope you never have to clean hot chocolate out of wicker....
I could not let Beau lick it up which he tried to do, because chocolate would give him diarrhea which I would have to clean up also. Rather a river of Chocolate than you know what.

Oh NO. Your beautiful white wicker! And your camera! Now it has a chocolate sports setting. This may be a good excuse to buy a new one. I hope your feet didn't get burned.

God bless your heart! That was a traumatic experience! Anytime a prized possession- like your treasured camera - is involved, the more trauma and drama it creates! Hope you get that sport setting back! I’m in bed .....and, yes, it’s 1:20 am and you will be up soon.....but I’m now craving a cup of hot chocolate! I had a fancy wine spritzer tonight but I’ll go teetotaler tomorrow and have what YOU have! Plus Trystan, Kailey, Harrison, and Logan will be hereso we can all have hot chocolate as a nightcap! Thank you!

No you definitely don't want sweet Beau to get any chocolate consumed!!! I'd be torn ... Heck, thinking about it, a new set of chairs ruined would be cheaper to replace than a new camera these days.

Oh no, not what you want to take care of at the end of the day. I bet it wasn't easy to clean out of those arms on the chair. Did it get all over the cushion too? Too bad about your camera. That's odd that it would only affect the one setting.

Hello,

Sounds like a mess to clean up, especially with Beau hanging close by ready to lick it all up.
Sorry about your camera, it is weird that only one setting is not working right.
Take care, have a great day!

Oh, I have had a similar experience once - and it always amazes me how anything liquid gets where it does and spreads how it does... That was one cleanup you didn't have on your to-do list - but oh well, it's done now. Weird about the sport setting though... that one does not make any sense at all! YAM xx

Oh boy, that sounded like quite a mess. I did mine just by sitting at the tablea few days ago, a large glass mug full of water. I was chatting to Hubs and the glass just fell out of my hands, still don’t know how that happened. It dropped a foot but fortunately did not break and it was just water with nothing electronic on the table. Things just got cleaner after mopping up.

Oh no, what a mess! That is not a good way to end your day. I can only imagine how long it took to clean everything up. Sure hope you get the camera setting working again. It is weird that it's only the one setting affected.

YIKES! As the suspension was building, all I could do was pray none of it ran onto Beau and burned him. I've come across an empty water bowl a couple times and reacted about the same: "Stop the world! Their bowl is dry!"

PS - I know this was an awful experience, but you tell it in such a way we can totally visualize what's happening. Author! Author!

Indeed a very very qood question how in the world does 8 oz look like a ton when it spills.
I like your re-enactment

A mess can sure get out of control in a hurry! Hope your camera works on all settings once it gets over the shock! I don't mind cleaning up messes but I hate to see anything ruined!

Cecilia's comment also applies to blood - although we don't recommend that anyone put that to the test. Digital camera? So digital and chocolate do not = go faster? Xxx Mr T

Sorry, not sorry, your post made me laugh and laugh! Not at your troubles! But your hilarious way of telling things! I am indeed sorry about the huge mess and most especially the damage to the camera. That is not funny. But your comedic report is priceless, especially the "re-enactment" photo LOL!

Oh wow, that is one ugly mess.
I hope you didn't get burned.
Sorry about your camera setting that's a bummer.
I'm sure that that kind of deep cleaning of your kitchen wasn't in your plans for the morning.
I too love the way you share your adventures and "misadventures" with us.
So happy we are selling a few things within the next few days...
I'm doing a happy dance.

Oh no what a disaster. It easily happens. Bill spilt tea all over the lounge room rug at 10:30 qt night, when we had to start cleaning it out of the carpet. But you had it everywhere, poor thing. I hope your camera comes good. Weird how it is only on one setting.

spilled liquids always seem to expand, no matter the size of the container it was in...and like you said "how did it get underneath the glass table" - it's surely a mystery...

Oh no !
Not a fun clean up. Thanks for a new info for me to digest. High level of potassium in cocoa. I make my own beverage just using cocoa powder but never realized it packed in a good dose of potassium. I shall drink it more often now.

Sorry to read about the mishap and all the cleanup, Sandra. Did you have your cup of hot chocolate after?

Good gravy, Sandra! What a big mess you had on your hands & everything else too. Tell me do you buy sugar free hot chocolate mix? That's a great idea for a chocolate snack which I too always want at night..thanks, jp

Oh no! Hoping you were not burned or Beau either. My great grand boy Harrison loves chocolate hot too. My DIL Brittany buys a specific something for the boys, I will have to remind her to tell me the name. It is healthy stuff. My husband always needs extra potassium and sodium too. I am sorry this happened.

I can't believe the mess you had to clean up. So sorry about that.
