I am soooo Excited

In January of 2015, I made an appointment with my Orthopedist to have my knee checked, due to LOTS of pain when walking. The good news was it was Osteoarthritis, a bone spur on the side of the knee and could be repaired with therapy. We set up therapy and I went to the first one, She put me through my paces, and put me on a NuStep recumbent cross trainer.
Due to high cost of therapy, I elected to do at home exercises and have since then done the faithfully. At that time she said you need to check your YMCA and see if they have this bike, you really need it. NOPE! they  did not have it.

Last week, the YMCA added TWO of these machines to the fitness room. Now when I go to the pool, I have added time on this machine. SEE ME BELOW

See how great I look already! Acutally this is only my HEAD. I snipped this photo from the video that I watched to see how to use it properly.
Here is the LINK to the video on YouTube in case the below doesn't work... Before you watch it you might want to give me either wild clapping or standing ovation for the SWEET Job I did adding my head to the photo. Note how I removed the double chins and and my spine is straight now, not bent.

today on Thankful Thursday I am thankful the Y got these machines and that 6 years of exercises have kept me walking without pain. My incentive to do the exercise is if I skip a day or 2 the knee HURTS. Do the exercise no pain.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this photo! I thought...and YET, you HAVE lost a lot of weight, so now you are finally looking your best!! You could make good money working for a scandal sheet and altering photos of celebrities. Hurrah for your abundant talent, and for the new machines!

I'm so happy that you didn't need surgery and there are things you can do to keep the pain from coming back. That's great that the Y has the machines now.

Yeap - you took us in with the photo - "what's her issue?" we thought. That photo remodeling was very well done Here's hoping the personal remodeling works as well. Osteoarthritis - you have all sympathy. F's paternal nana had that in her hands, big bumps on all knuckles and was constantly knitting and doing crochet to keep her hands working. Pleased to know that well designed fitness can help these things and it doesn't have to come down to reliance on drugs of some sort.

That is awesome that the Y has those machines. So have you gotten to use them at the Y yet?

I didn't know your knee hurt - glad it was nothing serious like surgery. And they happened to get two of the bikes you need!

I'm confused is your post a follow up from 2015?

I hope it means that you have gotten relief by doing the PT on the machines at the Y.
You my dear look fabulous in your "head" shot..too clever for me...
Lost a few ounces today so I'm getting back on track..NOW that the apricot pie is gone..
Busy today with Ebay, more bills and taking lots of pictures for Ebay too. It's so time consuming but if we sell, well worth the effort.

When Mom broke her arm, she knew that doing her exercises faithfully was the only way for her to regain use of that arm. Unfortunately Covid had other plans and she missed most of her in person OT. BUT she did all the exercises she had been given, and the arm isn't too bad, not perfect but usable:)

Hope you get to use that machine and hope it helps a lot too.

It has been so very long since I've visited blogland! But so good to see you here. You totally crack me up with your photoshopping. And this is why photographic evidence is no longer admitted in court. LOL But I'm so glad your Y got these machines and that they're giving you relief. And good for you! for using them faithfully. (P.S. Yes, I am totally impressed with your photoshop skills!) :-)

Really impressed with the digital surgery even though pasting your head on another body sort of gave me Frankinsteinish shivers. I spent a lot of time on that kind of apparatus when I was in physical therapy. Now that I have been out of therapy for a while, my good knee has started hurting. Guess I better check into the kind of at-home exercises that kept you pain free!

Ok, I read your post again and now I'm not so confused..I guess I hadn't had my morning coffee before and my brain was muddled.
Down some ounces today and that has made me happy.
Going to Dr. appt. for Dave in a few...
Hopefully he is pleased and we can go ever onward.

You did such a great job in adding your face, Sandra, that I didn't know the photo had been altered at first glance. Yeah to the local Y getting these machines and yeah to you for continuing to do exercises even before and still!
