You need to find a different way of following. I DON"T WANT TO LOSE you
I thought I only had 3 follow by emails, but found 14 for Fourpaws and 1200 for MadSnapper.
My concern is, I THINK it might stop sending comments to our email for us to read the comments.
We shall see...
I use Feedly to read all the blogs I follow. Looks like this. Some of you use Bloglovin. there are others out there.
I also can used dashboard reader if need, like when I dump Feedly by accident. ha ha
I am upset because my Lightbox slide show doesn't work on MadSnapper but does work on Fourpawets and resetting changes nothing. Light box enabled means when you click to enlarge, boxes come up shwoing each photo. I use it a lot when reading other blogs. Do you use it?
How do you read your comments?
If you have no clue what all this means, just move on..and see you tomorrow, I HOPE

I DO use lightbox, but had no idea that was it's name. I'm glad I don't use the e-mail follow. By far the easiest way for me to visitis just go down my sidebar. Sometimes I will use the reading list, but not often.
I absolutely love the title of this post. I think it should be a regular feature.
I use Feedly to follow posts.
I stopped reading blogs thru my feed since I only visit others who visit me. Thru my phone...I have two pages on my phone with shortcuts to blogs. I just click. Read, comment, go to next link. It's actually using up less time for me. And, I hate emails. Even BEFORE blogs came about.

I've never used the 'email follow' function on any blog. Only every the "follow" (club) widget OR manually entering the URL into the manage blogs bit of the dashboard reader - which is also the only way I know blogs have been published (although it is sometimes a bit erratic and not that immediate).
This function reduction pertains specifically to Feedburner and those folk who used the very specific widget which said 'follow by email' (which you have on your sidebar). The feed will actually continue, it is only the notification to anyone who subscribed through that will no longer be sent. It has no bearing whatsoever on comments and the notification thereof.
It just means that any using Feedburner must go to THAT dashboard to see what blogs have been published each day. YAM xx
Hello,
I never visited blogs just by email, I have my list of regular blogs on my sidebar that I visit and I usually always visit anyone that leaves me a comment. I do have the lightbox, it is like a slide show of photos on my post. I get too much junk email to sort and delete.
Have a great day!
Your 'Sandra's Sound Bites' .... so cute!
Not so much, my ignorance. I'll have to take a screen shot of what I see when I click on Reading List. I started blogging back in 2008, so I've NO CLUE what it is. All my comments come via e-mail with the exception of Jack's.
Honestly, I'm on the fence about alerting readers the e-mail option is going away. I was shocked to discover there were/are 1,334 -- most of which are duplicates and/or foreign-sounding names. Lurkers! Oh, I'll probably add a postscript, but figure if they don't want to come out and show their faces ... ya know?
I don't follow blogs by email, I just use the the dashboard so no worries here. Feedburner is supposedly only shutting down email subscriptions, you should still get comment emails.
Oh Dear blogger is pulling yet more wool over our eyes.
I have never used the follow by email much. I did sign up for a few to pop up in my email. Then most of those of WP quit showing up. I have a blog tab on my menu bar plus I also comment on the blogs that come to my blog. That is how I read blogs.

Good question about the hill! Not anything to see really, except the sky. It is about four blocks away, and is the parking lot where the senior and community center are, in an old school. It is the higest area in our neighborhood. Very quiet and peaceful in the evening.
I always read the comments on my blog more than anything but do the e-mail thing as well. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose. Really wish they wouldn't change things. I'm not one that likes too much change.
1200 on Madsnapper! Impressive!
I love the title too, let make it a regular feature. You are so helpful always.
I don't bother, or more truthfully, don't know how to bother with all tha fancy following stuff. I list the blogs I follows in my sidebar. When one of those blogs gets updated with a new post, it moves to the top of the list.
Since I don't blog every day, I click on that list and read the blogs for the past two or three days. And post a comment on each.
Then I check to see if any new people have commented and, if so, I go to their blog, read the latest post, and comment.
It works and is so simple to do.
I don't know if anyone follows my blog by email or not. I've been getting an email from someone wanting me to switch to them before feedburner is done but I've ignored them. I don't get all that many comments any way so I wasn't going to do anything about it. I guess I'll have to see what happens come July
I read everything right from your blogpost. I click on the comments and can read everyone else comments too.
I sure hope nothing changes between you and my posts. Gotta get my MadSnapper fix.
Sue
I look at my Blogs I Follow widget on my blog and read posts from there by clicking whoever has posted. I read my comments by just scrolling down. I had emails from Google warning me about the Follow By Mail thingie going away, too. I didn't really understand it so I ignored it lol.
I also use Feedly. I have comments emailed too me for approval.
You can expand & do rotate screen...making text as large as you want on your phone.
I use the embed version for a personal reason. Like I said, I make sure I do blog protocol & visit those that visit me...I respond to my comments to know I visited them!
I have no idea how to tell how many people follow my blog by email! How do you do that? Not sure what I plan to do yet....I was late to the game in offering that option since increasing the number of readers has never been my goal....
I just figured it out! 1,329 follow by email....
Since I do not follow blogs by email, the changes you mentioned here do not concern me. I try to read blogs one to two times a week from those on a blog sidebar, but find it hard to comment on daily posts although I do try to read as many as possible.
I read all my posts from Feedly. I read all of my comments in email. I don't know why they have to change things.
