THE RAIN came!

Thursday The Rain Came! 2 inches in 20 minutes, leaving droplets on Elephant ears and making patterns in the pool.
We are sub tropics, our rain comes in Buckets dumped all at one time. Sun comes out and repeat the bucket dump. It is rare to have a day of drizzle. We get Sun and RAIN. Sun and Rain

Friday we got 3 inches and were doing a happy dance! 5 inches Two days!
the back yard shouted hallelujah

Banana trees, Bird of Paradise, Flowers on hibiscus not shown. YET

Along came Saturday!
and another 7 inches of rain. Total Rain 3 Days 12 inches!

Since this is Florida, the sun came out and 3 hours later the run way was ready to play and the water was no where to be found.

Pop over to Beaus Blog for the rest of the story.

I stepped off into this by the pool and it was 5 inches deep

On Sunday the fourth the sun shone and on Monday it is showing again, and our grass in the front yard was beautiful and the Moss rose danced for joy

Wow, that is a TON of rain in a very short time. And the moss roses are more abundant and gorgeous than I have ever seen them. It's a wonder you didn't twist your ankle when you stepped into that deep puddle.

Yep I know what you mean. We get that here in summer but recently in winter we have has gentle rain. Very unusual . Hope it has all dried out.

That is a lot of rain to get in 3 days. If that happened here we would still have a soggy yard.

used to get similar in Sydney. Here by the Hutch, as you've gathered, it tends to be just rain! That said, after three days non-stop, the sun is out and the sky is clear as I await visitors coming to stay. Hope the sun does too. Your yard looks so lush and how uplifting that pot of flowers is!!! YAM xx

Just hope there isn't too much damage from Elsa for you!! It's raining here...again!! Soggy, swampy, comes to mind.

Doesn't take long for liquid sunshine to turn everything from brown to green. Glad you got your rain and I too hope Elsa didn't cause too much havoc.

Wow ... it's God's sauna!
Tom's still sleeping, so instead of turning up the TV I asked Google Girl. She reports you're having sunny weather right now, but more 'heavy' rain a little later. Thank goodness for retirement, you don't have to be out in that!

I'm so glad you are finally getting some rain and we should both get plenty more during the next 24 hours or so!

A foot of rain! Oh for such abundance. If we get anything like that amount of rain all it seems to do is wash dirt and vast rafts of rubbish into the sea. We are still fishing out rubbish from heavy rain about 3 weeks ago (and the basement is still flooded!) There is a bilge pump with a float switch in our basement which tends to suggest that flooding has been a problem in the past, but no one seems to be interested in maintaining the pump.... We reported it to the landlord but .... guess who is trying to bail out the water bit by bit and get to the pump sump to see if it can be overhauled.

Wow, that's an amazing deluge coming in such a short amount of time.
Happy dance for your plants and grass getting a nice drink of water.
At least there is a break for the water to run off.. a foot of water could really be flooding and serious.
I remember being at Disney World in one such "flood" with all the lightening to boot.
Everyone had to take cover in the stores. Everything was flooded and way over the ankles. Slow run off too. At least we had a safe place to stand around until given the all clear.

Enjoyed seeing the pictures. So glad it all dried out. Glad you had rain. Where there any areas in trouble?

All that rain really freshens up the greenery. Looks like you have someone leave a 'comment' about buying fake drivers license.

So glad you had rain at last. Looks like you'll be having more. An evil troll advertising fake drivers' licenses parked his ugly CARcass on your otherwise beautiful blog.

Glad the rains came there Sandra, and the same happened here as well. We had 2-3 rainy days last week and more is on the way tonight and Wed. Hope that Elsa stays far away too.

That looked like a monsoon hit your back yard - and in a couple hours - it was all gone? Amazing. Glad you got the rain.
