Little things can make a Big Difference

Washing my hands, I stared in the bathroom mirror, and thought I look old, I look mean
I look like I have been arrested and this is my MUGSHOT!
I smiled, and thought, there that's better.
I am ashamed to say, I stood there quite a while smiling and frowing before I went to the kitchen and got my phone, all the while pondering if I would have the nerve to post the
MEAN Me!
I thought, forget it, who smiles

Snap! Mugshot!
Snap! Smiling Me
It's the little things! You know its so because it says it in my header and title to his post.

One thought led to another, and I thought
This is how I look in church!
I can't SMILE in Church!
I can't Smile while riding the bike at the YMCA
What would I look like pushing the shopping cart all over Wal-Mart SMILING?

This is how I look walking Beau. (I had just walked in the door from our Walk)
Then It Hit Me
You're wearing a mask dummy...

P.S, did you notice my cheeks look fatter when I smile?

What a difference! 😊

Eyes look different when you smile even when you are wearing a mask. People can tell and you can smile all you like behind a mask without people wondering what drug you are on.

You are very talented!! I don't think I can wash my hands and look at the mirror at the same time.😉

Love this post and no, I didn't notice your cheeks were fatter when you smiled. I only noticed the smile :)
I'll be at work doing my thing and a customer will come along and say "Smile" and I always tell them I'm smiling on the inside. Then when they walk away I grumble about how I would look like an idiot if I had a smile pasted on my face the whole time I was working.

Sandra, it doesn’t matter that you cheeks look fatter when you smile, your description not mine, because you have a great smile!
And I read someplace that smiling is better then frowning so keep on smiling, even behind a mask.

MS I have been in that exact predicament when looking in the mirror while trying to take a selfie with my iPad. I try to look forward and smile but alas I fail...what I do se is 3 extra chins because I'm looking down

I'm DYING!!! Only you can make the ordinary extraordinary!

Okay, you've made me realize how often I don't smile because it makes my already-small eyes scrunch up and appear even smaller. Funny thing. Down here in small-town Alabama, almost everyone smiles -- in church, at the grocery, etc. I remember the other day when I passed several men at Food Outlet who weren't smiling and wondered what was up.

PS - Nope to the fat cheeks. Thems cheek bones; wish I had 'em. I used to look at Patricia Morrow on Peyton Place and wish I had hers.

Hello Sandra, :=) Smiling makes you look younger, that includes everyone. Your face lights up when you smile, and your's is lovely.

A smile makes all the difference...you look lovely when you smile.
I have heard it takes more muscles to frown than to smile.
It would be sad if I couldn't smile at church...or anyplace else for that matter.
today it will be harder to smile. My allergies are acting up..things are starting to blossom in the yard...achoo

I like your smile. I know you smile at a lot of people, in church is a good place for that :) It's contagious with most people. I'm leaving smiling, thank you!

Nice post...with all that "face us" today. I have love hate relationship with mask. But I can mutter, yawn, smile, grimace and no one try hears or sees.

LOL at that last one with the mask on. The smile does make a difference!

As my dad used to say, "A smile adds a lot to your face value."

I'm the same. Bill took a movie of me walking along an arcade and I had a serious grumpy look. Its sad when your relaxed face looks mean or grumpy but as you say we can't smile all the time. I save on lipstick wearing a mask.

Loved this post. And you look wonderful and years younger with that gorgeous smile! If I moan about the changes age and stroke have made on my face and body Hubby keeps straight with "Be thankful for what you've got." And I am happier when I'm thankful instead of moaning.
It strikes me that you, too, choose happy. And when you are aggravated the aggravation is not wasted energy. You just turn it into a blog post!!
