Home is where you plant it Part 2

Continued from Prior Post.... above is the view of the house next door. From both bedroom windows and both bathroom windows, it is only a Spit Away from our window.  Maybe 20 feet.  Last week, sitting this computer, I heard  BEEP!  BEEP BEEP BEEP and the loud sound of a Diesel Engine.

Leaping to my feet and peering out the window I saw this

No, I did not take the photo, its off the internet. They dropped the Construction Dumpster and I raced outside to tell Bob they were putting it in the driveway.

He says So What?

I rant and rave, I told you they sold the house a year ago and the people who have been squatting in it since 2020 would not move out and that one day they would evict them and last week the people disappeared, and I said now they will start the work on flipping that house and we will here construction noise for MONTHS and MONTHS.....  yes, I do talk without punctuation when over excited.

This is the sold house and the one you see next to it shows how close the houses are.
Our windows are open, Yowsa!

Beau and The MadSnapper are now on constant Alert! waiting for the loud Bams and Booms and Whams. Bob can't hear them, so no big deal to him except...
to be continued

Oh gosh! I hope you can get some sleep, and it doesn't jangle Beau's nerves! You will likely have to keep the windows closed as well. Not for just the noise, but all kinds of dust and dirt will float in.

I'd put up with noise if there is improvement guaranteed.

Hello Sandra, :=) Yes, you will have to put up with noise, but it does have a beneficial side to this new development. A face lift to the house next door. No-one likes to live next door to a run down property, and you could get to live next to very nice new neighbours.I hope so! Grit your teeth Sandra and think of the end results.:=)

The dust levels will rise... but as said above, worth the noise if you get what amounts to a brand new property on the street! YAM xx

Hello,
The home improvements/construction can be very noisy, trucks coming and going.
Hopefully when it is done you will have new homeowners living next door and not renters. Take care, enjoy your day and weekend.

So long as they only work during the day I wouldn't mind the noise much. Then again, I'm more like Bob and wouldn't hear some of it. I can' just take my hearing aids out if it gets too loud...lol

I hope it is done quicker than you think. I had never though about there being an advantage to not hearing...

Oh dear me your poor ears and all the dust that will accompany the flip. I hope it is a quick flip
Your graphics are gorgeous

The only good thing - it might raise the value of your house???

What a pain! Now watch, after a while you'll become accustomed to it ... then when they finish the silence will feel weird. (Murphy)
Do you think listening to your favorite music or a podcast through earbuds would help?

Og gosh.....and the Drama continues...
Hang in there...maybe the new neighbors will be awesome and the house will be in great shape to help the curb appeal of your street.
Just trying to be positive on such an annoying situation.

Your readrrs have a point. It's called gentrification where we are from - people with dosh moving in and mzking the neighbourhood expensive and desireable (and possibly quieter with neater yards....eventuuuually). xxx Mr T

This could give you some good fodder for more posts.

Fingers crossed it's not too bad. Hurray for heavy duty ear protectors. I would be wearing mine. 🤞

PS I hate noise too. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. 🙁
