I LOVE BREAD!

When I started the quest to alleviate my IBS symptoms, I thought going Gluten free was the way to go.
I bought 4 kinds of gluten free flour and baked and gagged on most of them, I found only 2 that i could eat.
I found this website   and with much research found I These Two Breads are safe.
Bakery Sourdough and French Bread.
Now that I am MadSuperShopperSnapper, I can tell you this bread has saved my IBS life.

I buy three at a time because sometimes they are out of it. I slice in 1 inch slices, and put in airtight baggies and remove my daily needs.
French bread makes fantastic French Toast and that gives me eggs that I don't have to TASTE and I use Pure Maple Syrup. Molasses is another thing I can use.
I use Sourdough with PB and Orange Marmalade, and Egg/cheese on top.
I now have FOUR breakfast foods that I love, Oatmeal is a 5th but I don't LOVE it.

I have to say here that 2 or 3 slices a day is the limit and IF I eat more, I wake up with a stomach ache.
there are foods I can eat if I eat small amounts.
THE GOOD NEWS HERE IS THE FRENCH BREAD IS ONLY ONE DOLLAR!!!!
a week of breakfast except for the eggs and syrup, but I only eat 2 tablespoons of syrup .

That's great that you found breads that you can eat. I'm not crazy about sourdough bread. I can eat it but I don't like it as much as other breads.

Hello,

I am glad you found out these two breads are ok for you and IBS. I love both the Sourdough bread and the French bread. I try to limit how much bread I eat.
Take care, have a happy day and a great weekend!

Hello Sandra, I find as I get older, I cannot eat commercial bread any longer. We have a delightful half loaf made with molasses, baked at the local bakery and sold by a small supermarket in the foothills of the mountains. One slice of this is one Complex Carbohydrate serve on the Weigh-Less program and I promote if to my members. It's the only bread which doesn't give me indigestion. Have a great day. Jo

Errr - my humum likes bread too but manages to only buy it on a Saturday (and puts most of it in the freezer and Mr B makes toast out of most of it during the week.) She says your bread looks good and she likes sour dough. I wouldn't know about bread. xxx mr T

I recognize this bread because of course I buy it! Wal-Mart's bakery breads are good, and cheap. I love the Italian, too. And the Cibatta rolls. I LOVE bread. So WHY is French and Sour Dough safe?? Their mini French baguettes make fabulous French Bread pizzas!! Have you tried making one? Customize it so you can eat whatever you want on top. I mix tomato sauce with some Italian spices, and then use cheese and some kind of protein, or red onions and olives, spinach, the possibilities are endless. Toast it first, so the sauce doesn't soak into the bread, then put all the stuff on top and run it under the broiler. I have even make chicken alfredo pizzas.

Tom does, too. Love bread, that is. He actually prefers the hard crusty kind, but that's hard to find. We wind up throwing out so much; I'm going to suggest he do like you and start putting slices in airtight baggies.

That bread looks very familiar and it is one we also use. I agree it makes yummy French toast. We also use a sour dough rye. We use several rye variations as Buddy and hubby have their own preferences. Oatmeal is also not a favourite here but we do make it. I sometimes add some oat flakes onto my Greek yogurt along with the flaxseeds and berries.
YouAnd a few nuts. I cannot eat much of any bread daily either. Lately my colon is struggling. My fault as having had colon cancer I know treats are very bad but I slipped up during this pandemic eating chocolate , ice cream and some pastries. Now I have to back track or like you my tummy is too painful and bowels malfunction. I thrive on fresh salads and veggies so I now try to make them daily.hopefully I will stay true to my former anti cancer eating habits once again I wish I was more active as that is another thing I slipped up on. We still have snow storms, one today, and I seem lazy to get out for daily strolls though I know I should. We have the clothing to bundle up and once out it feels so good.

I'm glad you can enjoy this type of bread. Breakfast is my favourite meal although I limit my intake to one slice of bread toasted with marmalade.
