A few of you know that I have a 3rd blog, Addicted to Snapping!
I started it in 2012 thinking I would move to it and post only photos, and I made them bigger by changing the HTML size. It was to much work and I gave it up after a few dozen posts.
A few weeks ago, I accidently found in my MadSnapper blog
there were dozens of comments in my Spam folder that I did not even realize I HAD one.
Do you check your spam and moderation? I never look at it but now I do.
I clicked not spam and posted all of them. Both MadSnapper and Beau'sBlog
had some.
Yesterday I remembered the 3rd blog and wow!
20 comments in 2021, 10 in 2020 and all were in Spam.
I published them.
the screen shots are for those of you that were not aware of the place to check.
Now I am wondering if I should close down both blogs and use the 3rd.
To all of you that i did not acknowledge all your wonderful comments, I am now saying Thank you and now am payng attention to that neglected blog.
BTW, none of the comments were from strangers, they were all from my friends.
I am thinking that when we just shut down the old it just sits there and nothing updates.

I made a major post about this several months ago, Sandra. Look in my etherwobblies tab. It only started happening last year and is not consistent. I have said on several occasions that it is necessary to check one's spam folders at least weekly. It is also necessary to ensure that any unwanted comments are correctly spammed via the dashboard so that Google 'learns' the difference. Moderation happens if you put a time limit on when comments can be live - which I also wrote about in recent months. I think Google have worked on this anomaly re comments from regulars... but after two months, I did find a couple has gone to spam that ought not to. Hey ho... YAM xx

Yes, to answer your question, Sandra, I check comments daily as I do not moderate and when I find one that's spam it is marked as such and deleted. I did not get the same info when I clicked comments as was shown in your screen shot. Maybe it's because I don't have moderation set?

I check ...but probably not as often as I should. Some (most) ARE spam, but some aren't and I just mark it as such. Can't fret over spilled milk.
I do check but thanks for the reminder. I think most would advise to not shut down the other two blogs and go to a third one. When others have done that they have lost quite a few followers. And, as the blogger stands now, we can't add new blogs to our sidebar (which is where I read from). Why now incorporate your photos into your main blog?

Oh my goodness, Sandra! Hiding right there in plain sight! I'd but 16 spams -- 5 or 6 were friends, but the rest were borderline nasty from 'distant shores.' Several dated back to 2012!

All this spam stuff drives me nuts. There is so much...pardon my French..crud floating around...

This is some kind of comment section in Blogger? I never pay any attention to it! NOW, WHY would you shut down your two and use the snapping one only? You know how curious I am!! And are you going to start posting in it? If so, I will add it to my blog list
I did find the comments section in Blogger. At least I'm not that decrepit!
I do check my spam folder but not regularly. I don't get why anyone would shut down or delete a blog. What if you change your mind down the road. Why not just let it sit so that you can go back if you want or so that you yourself could go back and see what you had posted. If you close down the two I read now you better let us know because I don't think I have the third in my feed.

The blogger blog I use to comment is active but empty - I was able to import it to Wordpress when I moved years ago - so does not (thankfully) get comments.
Back then I found you had to dig and delve to find the spam box because there certainly were hiccups with what were spam and what were real comments - sounds like northing has changed.

I use comment moderation all the time, and yes, I check my spam folder regularly . For some reason the comments from a couple of my followers end up in spam.

I have started noticing about spam comments and have found blogging friends in there. I check every morning now. I also use comment moderation.
I forgot about that blog post. The pictures are really beautiful.
