The Struggle is Real

for inspiration

I feel like I
I have sinus headaches, dizzy to the point of 8 days of Dramamine to walk with Beau. Yes, my BP is fine, before you ask.

I am hungry all the time, with IBS I can only eat certain foods but am
overeating those foods and also added a few I know are trigger foods.
My brain said, so what? eat that piece of bologna with mayo, pay the price.
I did. Stomach cramps and I have gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks.

I am craving ice cream. It's all I think about. I last had ice cream in January of 2017. Five years and have not craved any of the sugar I gave up.
Your first thought is to say, so eat a bowl and get rid of the craving. I can't. I am addicted to sweets, one bite, just one bite and like any addiction I am lost.
For me to do a post, my creative part of my brain, likes to embellish by exaggeration, making normal everyday things interesting, exciting, funny.
When that part of my brain is depressed, I resort to puns or avatars or both.
I decided to try to explain how I feel.
I decided to take Sat/Sun off and not post, woke up Sat AM and I had left Beau's Post on autopost.

Oh GOSH!!! The extreme hunger must have something to do with your headaches. Everything is connected. I think you may be having allergy attacks. They can act weird like this. We can become allergic to anything at any time in our lives. Try some over the counter Zyrtec.

Headaches suck. F's Mum was plagued in her later years by debilitating headaches. It is amazing what every cell of your body will tell you to do when it is under stress. I wish there was a way to help. I would sit on you and purr and knead you. Go get a neck/shoulder massage perhaps? Xxx Mr T and F

Taking time out to settle yourself is perfectly okay - we are not going anywhere and send you healing wishes. As for blog posts - remember that even just a photo will do. Fret not. You're among friends. YAM xx

Finding the right balance in what to eat is indeed a struggle, and one can't even be sure that what seems to work at one point in time will continue to do so. I familiar with the ice cream craving... Just having one bowl will not satisfy it! - at least not as long as there is more in the freezer...

Hello,
I hope you feel better, headaches are awful. So are all the allergies symptoms. It is awful feeling hungry all the time, I always crave chocolate.
Take care, Wishing you a happy day!

I hate sinus headaches.
I am so aware of the eating struggle. At least you have the willpower to avoid some of those cravings. I give in far too quickly. Right now since I can't eat much of anything I am craving so many food. There have been a bazillion pizza commercials on tv and I want one.

I'm sorry you feel so bad! I know I'm going to miss walking and probably feel some anxiety from that. I don't know what to say about the cravings. I hope you figure things out and feel better this week! How about a hug? Would that help? Hugs, Diane

Oh lady, I'm so sorry you're experiencing all these issues. When I was stuck in that traffic jam from h*** yesterday, the only thing I could think to calm me down was one of Tom's macadamia nut cookies ... and ya, I'm paying the price this morning.
What with all the rage and free-floating anxiety out there, somedays it feels there's no way out.

Sandra Oh me a headache can make you feel bad all over.
Per chance it is the barometric pressure. I had a few days last week when my glasses felt like they were cutting into the skin behind my ears. The humidity was high.

Sandra thank you so much for the comment and the words to the hymn. Now I need to google the hymn. I don't think I have heard it

Oh Friend..I hear you...I could give you all kinds of platitudes and what I think but it would all be yada..yada...blah..blah...
So sorry and hope your sinus headache will depart !!...
Life gets messy sometimes and I'm right there with you on the weight gain.
I see my primary care Dr. Wednesday for my annual check up..she's not going to be happy and frankly I'm not either. those 6-10 pounds are not good for me but my BP seems to still be under control.
Can I loose those extra pounds in 2 days..NOPE so it is what it is.
Thinking of you and wish I could help in some way.
Love you Girl friend.

Sorry you're feeling so crummy. Your symptoms could be from several sources. Dizziness can be from dehydration, or medications, or inner-ear disturbance and on and on. IBS can be helped from a bland liquid diet and new medications are helpful. Your headaches and cravings could be due to undiagnosed diabetes. When the pancreas sputters, insulin spills into the bloodstream, hunger goes off the charts and cravings are acute. I'm not a medical pro, but suffer with all these ailments. I'm lucky to have access to the Mayo Clinic which has helped me immensely. I encourage you to get a medical exam with lab work. And get plenty of rest and be good to yourself. Good luck.

I'm sitting beside Louis Dean's hospital bed and trying to stop myself from eating his dinner! He has no appetite and I am feeing him tiny bites while I want to scarf up the whole thing! My belly is puffy from snacking and eating my way through this whole ordeal! Where did this come from???
I sent a picture of the big salad I ate today AFTER I had 3/4 of his bacon cheeseburger that was SO yum!! And some potato salad. yogurt, crackers, fruit cocktail, what else??? I tell you, I'm eating like there's no tomorrow!
WHY are we doing this?

I understand the struggle. I can't stop at one square of chocolate, before I know it the whole bar is gone. I think I have my dad's sweet tooth but he loved his Bourneville dark chocolate and that always went in one sitting. We didn't realize back then how much better dark chocolate was for him. We also had organic vegetables out of his garden always. He was a pioneer in such things and he didn't even realize it :)
