New Shoes for MS

60 dollars on sale for 50 dollars
Fit well since they are stretch, Machine Washable and air cooled goga mat in the insole to help with cooling my feet.
My last pair gave me 4 years of walking dogs every day.

The Store is a Florida based upscale store and in the past stepping inside it was beautiful but always a tad over my budget. Shelves were crowded with things I loved but could not afford.
This time, the shelves were not crowded with merchandise.
the Sketchers Asile had 12 pairs only of the type I wear, and about that many sandals.
compared to before 2020 there were hundreds of them.
I had a choice of either black or light beige, two pair in a size 9.
I chose the black and had to buy the shoes that were on display.
I was one of three shoppers in the store, and I saw only two employees.
Nothing is the same since 2020. I have the same income, but less money to spend due to the inflation of prices on everything.
I have to think carefully before I buy since The Roofers took all our money. Also, there are not a lot of choices.
Not the end of the world, but it is different.
What have you noticed in your part of our planet? any changes?

We're seeing continual rising prices. The most shocking was $1.50 for an ear of fresh corn. We skipped that this year.

They are so nice, and I just love Sketchers! They are such a comfortable brand! There is a big potato famine shortage here, have you noticed? No single potatoes, only sweet ones. I have not been able to get any in any store for weeks, and finally I Googled it. Sure enough, there is a country wde shortage. Ah, but you very likely cannot eat potatoes! Good thing now.

I think i am going to be shocked on my return to UK. Before we left I grew 60-70% of our food so we were insulated from food prices somewhat. Here in Greece we have been spoiled for good cheap fresh tasty plentiful food (although I have noticed that lack of rain this year has made grapes smaller). We gave a good income and no debts now so we dare not complain about limited lifestyle choices. So many people are not so fortunate.

Many things have changed. I think (tho I don't like it) is the attitudes of our government AND citizens. Yet, we will continue to vote the same old cronies into office, and the country will continue in the pace of doomsday.

Sorry...to me it's all political. Party against party instead of working FOR the people.

Sketchers have always been a favorite. Their shoes are always comfortable and made to last.
I think the biggest change around here is prices. Everything just keeps going up.

I just read Ginny's comment about a potato shortage. We've got plenty of potatoes around here but no one can find jumbo shells from the pasta section. Every store in the area is out of them.
I've got the feeling that each week, the powers that be put all grocery items in a hat and then pick what there will be a shortage on for that week/month.

Hello,

I have a pair of Sketchers Bobs tennis, I love them. Your new ones sounds nice, especially if they are washable. Prices seem to be going up on everything, I am amazed at egg prices. I blame all the corporation greed, they are making high profits at our expense. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead

Everything is higher...and a lot they try to disguise the rise in price by changing the size...or amount you get.

...yup, what everyone above already said. Every week the same grocery list is costing an extra dollar or more, and there is always at least one item I have to consider dropping from it - because, like you, my pension hasn't altered with the rise. The same amount of money that served me well for a month is now really only covering three weeks... thank heavens for a mother who taught us all to live on next to nothing. YAM xx

I'm glad you treated yourself! I'm a size 9, too, which judging from inventory seem to be the most popular. I remember Bealls but haven't shopped any nice retail establishments in years. (Well, I found a purse at Kohls but that was out of necessity when mine started falling apart.)
I love what Ann surmised about shortages! That truly sounds plausible, doesn't it? Lately, I've noticed diet tonic/diet ginger ale pickings are slim to none. Good grief!

I'm still not shopping much at all so I guess I'm part of the change. I just can't get excited about going to the big stores. But I do have a few needful things so I should go soon! Glad you at least found the shoes you like!

Nice find on your favorite shoes. I know Beau and your feet will be happy.

the most shocking price increase I've seen was Multigrain Cherrios. I mix them with plain Cheerios so I don't buy either that often. And I buy Harris Teeter Brand Cheerios which I like better than real Cheerios. HT doesn't have a their own Multi grain.
Anyway Multi grain was 3.79 for an 18 oz box last time I bought them. Last week same size was 7.49 at Harris Teeter. Lo and behold I found the 18 oz size at Walmart for 4.79 I grabbed it. Same with Brummel-Brown Margarine.
It was 2.99 forever. Then 3.49. Now 5.99. I found the same size at Walmart for 3.49.

Okay this is a topic near and dear to me. Not only did Covid kill people - it killed a lot of other things - and this is the after effect of it on businesses. We have businesses and restaurants that have been in business for decades that are just now biting the dust and I do NOT think it is over. The government right or wrong paid a lot of money to people not working and now something happened, but no one can get workers either. Businesses close early. It is so darn sad to see what this disease has done to America. That is my opinion anyway. I have a friend who has not left her house - bare minimum - to go out - she orders groceries - no eating out - no church nothing. What in the world is happening?

All stores seem to have empty shelves, no employees and higher prices since 2020...so very sad.

I wear this make of footware too. So comfortable. Prices are going up and the products are getting smaller with less food in each pack or tin.

I love sketchers..its all I wear...Glad you found some in your size and for less than usual. There is a Sketchers outlet near us. This is where we get our shoes.
I agree with everyone else's comments to you.
Empty shelves, prices rising and the amount in the pkg. is less..I'm right there with Hootin' Anni on her assessment.
I end up buying off brands more often now due to the price.
Haven't bought new clothes in ages...except for wedding outfit I had to get.
Even though we do eat out on occasion, those prices have escalated too, less help and higher prices.
Our gas has come down a few cents though...now its $4.85 a gal. at the cheapest place.

Yes, prices are getting higher but haven’t seen any major shortages, though shelves are stocked a bit less. Sketchers have a great reputation for comfy shoes.

Glad you found a pair to work for you. I think the black was a good color choice. I haven't been out enough to notice a difference except of course for the inflation and our money not making any many in the bank accounts. Yes things have definitely changed!

Prices have definitely gone up, but what I notice even more is that I would rather sit in my chair and do my shopping online. This from a person who used to be able to browse in a store all day and love it,.

Things are always changing! Lack of certain food things and soaring prices of the food that IS on the shelves. I am trying my deal level best not to waste anything!!
