Every day, almost every hour of every day, I sit in my chair with Chromebook in lap, reading and typing and then I lean forward and sit the lap desk, with Chromebook on it, firmly on the ottoman.
Friday I did not do that!
Instead of both firmly planted, I chose to put the desk 3 inches off the front edge, then I sat the laptop on the wrist rest.
See illustration below.
Improper on Left, Proper on Right. got it? |
I sat forward, sat it down, went to stand and
The desk tilted, the laptop slid forward, falling like a rock on top of my right instep,
bounced up and hit the right shin bone which shot the laptop over to the left shinbone where it slid down the left shin ripping wrinkled, thin, senior flesh as it went.
I howled and hopped and carried on while blood ran like water.

also, the right foot feels like a mule stepped on it and kicked me in the other leg while doing it.
I know how that feels because at age 12, I was kicked by a mule while trying to plait its tail because the kids that lived there told me to do it.
FOR SOME WORDS OF SYMPATHY! MAKE ME FEEL BETTER!
PLEASE!

Only YOU could get attacked by a computer! And hurt multiple times in different places! I am always dropping heavy things on myself, and have broken my foot quite a few times. So I am so very sorry!! I have the real thin skin as well. I can barely rub it without it splitting and bleeding. I hope nothing is broken, give us another report tomorrow!! Wait, this was on Friday...so how are you feeling now?
Ouch! Our age seems to attract ouchies. Totally sympathize. Heal fast!
maybe you rescued the life of the chromebook with your shin bone? sometimes is is painful to do good things....

It's a pretty solid bit of kit. So yes, that's gotta hurt! YAM xx
Hello,
Sorry about your accident, it seems like bruises and scratches happen more lately. Is it old age, I've always been clumsy. Take care, enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
I am so sorry you had such a traumatic experience with the Chromebook. I had no idea they could be so dangerous. I feel your pain.
My sympathy, Sandra, on your injuries, which admittedly were the first I had ever heard of a notebook PC inflicting, as usually it is humans attacking a PC. I hope that you and the Chromebook make a full recovery.
Oh nooooooo! (I'm channeling that Bounty commercial.)
I'm really sorry you're hurting like the dickens, BUT. At the same time, I'm really impressed by your recollection of the sequence of events. I'll say it again -- you'd be a police officer (and/or) insurance adjustor's dream.
PS - Pretty sure you're like me, and just giving thanks the Chromebook didn't attack Beau!
I don't know what the others said - but some great news - your laptop didn't break, and it is still functioning! Get well. I do that a lot too.
Ouch! That must have really hurt...I take it your laptop survived. I am glad...you would be lost without it.
OH MS you made me giggle...I'm so sorry but I'm with you I can have the oddest accidents. A week or so ago while preparing to take my showerI was the master closet (where the hamper is located), I was close to the door frame when I took of one of my ankle socks my hand went rogue flew toward the door frame. My index finger slammed into the frame at Mach speed. It hit right smack on my knuckle and good googley gook it bled. I had to keep a band aid on it for about a week due to the location and it being my right hand. Every moment I made opened up the cut
Hugs Cecilia
Awwww...(((hugs))) and kisses for the boo boos.
Glad it was 2 band aids but I know it hurt. Hope the Chrome is ok too.
Was this enough sympathy?? (:0)
Something is wonky with my laptop and I can't always get into what I want to.
Life just gets too complicated sometimes.
Dave asked how I was feeling this morning. I said I feel OLD. Sometimes the pressure of life gets to me.
Guess what? I work a 10 hour shift for my friend on Wednesday AND
the temps are suppose to be 106F...HELP!!!!
I'm already anticipating the worse..not good way to be.
Sue
I'm so sorry! That sounds like something we would do, but we're not nearly as skilled in telling the story.
I do have to say when you do something, you always make sure to do it right!
Hope the pain is less, and the cut heals quickly!
Ouch, lots of rest, ice, compression and elevation. That foot is going to hurt like... well like... well we guess like a mule stepped on it. Xxx Mr T and F
OUCH!!!!
we hope you can put the ice pack on it and feel
better soon.
xo Astro and Pepper
Oh my word! I'm so sorry that happened to you. ((HUGS)) You take care of yourself.
That sounds like something I would do. I am most accident prone.
