Ian is COMING!

Hurricane Iam is headed straight for our area! Unless it changes, it will put us in the purple, which means 80 to 90 MPH winds and about 7 to 15 inches of rain.
When?  Wed even/Thursday morning
Where/ Here or nearby, whatever he goes we will be getting really bad weather.
And from this graph below from Noah Weather, looks like SC, NC, GA, AL will get a lot of rain too.
I have never paniced at a coming hurricane, and 5 years ago, when Irma was headed for us, I only freaked when it was an hour away and still coming head on to  us, at 30 minues to hitting us, it took a sharp right turn and just swiped us. I did freak that day.
This is the first time I am
FREAKED OUT 2 days before.

I shopped on Sunday; the shelves were empty.
this is what I have done so far
Charged everything in the house that needs charging,
Made sure the two chargers are in the car if we lose power,
batteries in all 6 flashlights
matches ready for oil lamps and a few candles.
filled 10 coffee cans with water, we will drink that if we run out of the 3 gallons I bought.
the shower has two black trash cans full of water to flush with
filled several gallon jugs with flush water for other bathroom
(bob's comment was, why are you doing this, we have the pool you know!)
My reply was, so you want to go out in a storm to get water out of the pool?
WHAT IF the power lines are down in the back yard or in the pool?

He will tie down anything that needs it all day Tuesday.
And we are waiting to see what
IAN Will Do!

Good thing about where I live is there are no cyclones or storms.

If the rain will be that heavy, sewer lines won't drain if toilets are flushed. I'd evacuate. Be safe...we are watching & praying.

Sounds like you are being really smart about prep for this storm. We are snowbirds and will be back in Miami in about 2 weeks. So far, we have never been there for a hurricane, but I'm getting daily notices from our building on warnings and what to do to prepare. Good luck and I hope it turns and misses you again.

I know this isn't your first rodeo, but still I'm fretting. Aren't you mighty glad that big tree was taken down and there's a sturdy new roof over your heads?

Praying Ian will be all bluff and no blow!

Hey Sandra I'm running late I had my senior wellness physical today.
I am sending all kinds of positive thoughts that Ian makes a sharp right turn out into the deep Blue Atlantic.
You are prepared all you can. VEry thankful you have a new roof that doesn't leak. Sounds like our area will get 2-3" of rain. We need rain but not all in one day.
Hugs Cecilia

I've been thinking about you this morning...just saw they were going to put a curfew in place if the winds get over 40mph...

Glad you are so prepared. Stay safe and update us when you can!

Praying for you. It looks like you are as prepared as you can be. I think losing power is the worst of it...well and water damage, too. Hope you do okay and get through. xo Diana

You know I am praying for you and everyone in the path of Ian. You sound like you have really prepared well. You take care and stay safe.

I will be thinking of you, Bob and Beau. Your new roof, will it be safe? I'm so worried now and the wait for you must be awful. When is it supposed to hit your area? Tomorrow?

I will be thinking of you while I sit or lie down having the PET scan.

I hope you can get some rest tonight. Sending love...

Hey Sandra, saw on Facebook about filling washing machine with ice and drinks to keep them cold. Water drains out… praying for you and all those in the path. - Stacey (Washington)
