Tearful Moments

Queen Elizabeth II, Rest In Peace

As I watched live coverage of her funeral all day, there were a few moments that touched my heart bringing tears to my eyes.

Tears came as the choir sang The Day, thou gavest Lord, is ended and halfway through the song the women's sopranos began to sing over the male voices and the hairs on my arms stood and tears filled my eyes.

The quiet during the 2 minutes of silence while cameras scanned London and UK showing all the people waiting in silence.

Each time the young guards carried her coffin, especially when they carried it up all the stairs into the Chapel at Windsor.
The total quiet as the guards carried her up those stairs with nothing but the sound of marching feet, brought the tears.

As the first two motorcycles came through the gate into Windsor Castle, the horses standing at attention to the side, began to bob their heads, up and down, up and down and as I watched them the tears came.
It appeared they were giving one last bow.
I had watched for hours without taking a single photo, until the horses.

Her horse standing with empty saddle, broke my heart for the horse. The commentator said she rode every weekend without fail.

Her dogs, sitting and wondering where she has gone.

She loved horses and dogs and so do I.

My heart hurts for all the people who now have hurting hearts.

‘The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended’  written by Reverend Clement Cotteril Scholefield.

The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended,
the darkness falls at thy behest;
to thee our morning hymns ascended,
thy praise shall sanctify our rest.

This is what their heads were doing, bTut  is a gif of two photos.

Hello,
I did watch a lot of the funeral. I feel for the her dogs and the horse, I am an animal lover and I am sure they will miss her. I hope the King is able to fill her shoes, she is a legend. Take care, enjoy your day!

The most poignant part for me was the corgi dogs & King Charles expressive face with their "new anthem". He has shoes to fill that will never be imo

Thank you for this Sandra, very touching. I watched all day and shed a few tears. She was one of a kind and I have admired her greatly since I was a child.

I, too, was enormously touched by those horses. (Great gif!)
Now I want to Google more about them -- like how they're trained, etc.
Thank you for sharing the YouTube highlight reel. These are emotions that won't be going away anytime soon.

I cried at the dogs and her horse, too. Also ~ when the lone piper played ~

I agree...there were so many touching moments throughout the entire time.
The silence was deafening... respectful and humbling
Our world could learn a thing or two from it.

Hello Sandra, I didn't watch the funeral procession because I don't have TV. I too feel sorry for her beloved family, and her horse and dogs who will miss her so much. Thank you for the videos which I will watch now.

OMW Sandra, I also shed tears with: The day thou gavest, Lord is ended. It was one of Grant's favorite hymns. As a church organist, I knew all the hymns sung at the Queen's two services. Watching the Youtube link you posted, I started crying all over again. At the Corgis and her pony Emma. AND then Charle' expression as the Anthem was sung in Windsor. I watched the full seven hours I wondered how those two little children felt that night. I have watched all sorts of high lights. Today I stopped the car on the way to cleaning my little unit to look up God Save the king lyrics. I grew up with the Queen always being there in my life. Thank you for your lovely post. Hugs Jo xx

It was a beautiful ceremony. The men carrying the casket made me nervous but it was amazing and so touching. She will be missed.
