Hiding Oats to be Healthy

I am not in love with Oatmeal. I eat it to be healthy, now thanks to English Girl Rambles, post about adding oat to her omelet, I found ways to HIDE my oats.

I tried adding to my crepe for breakfast and it was ok but not delish. Delish turned out to be my cinnamon toast I have for breakfast a couple of times a week. My IBS loves fresh baked French Bread. I eat a few slices every day.

Stir 2 spoons 100 % Maple Syrup with peanut butter, sprinkle cinnamon, drop a few oats in it, add a few Rasins and stir. spread the paste on French Bread.

I like my toast soft on bottom, crispy on top, which means I do Air Broil in Ninja oven on high for 2 minutes, I must stand and watch to get it just right or grab the fire extinguisher.

Just So You Know, I have to SHARE pieces with Beau and that is why there are 3. Usually, I make 2

Well that looks yummy. I occasionally eat oatmeal but it's not one of my favorite things.

Well, here, of course, oatmeal is turned into porridge, but me being me, it gets all sorts added, such as dried cranberries, sultanas, cashew nuts, blueberries, banana, yoghurt, honey... but I might just try your toast mix! YAM xx

My humans want to know how any human good not like oatmeal. They soak theirs in water overnight then add milk before cooking it in the morning and eating it with sliced bananas (peanut butter would probably work well too but they haven't tried it so can't say). It might work in your omelet if you soak it first. Try baps - oat flour bread rolls. Yam-Aunty should be able to explain baps to you - they are a Scottish thing. xxx Mr T & F

I love oatmeal but I put thin slices of apple in it before I cook it and sprinkle it with cinnamon. Of course French bread is always delish!

Oatmeal cookies, oatmeal on candied apples, and oatmeal for meatloaf filling. That's about it at our house.

You lost me at raisins (grin), but this looks mighty delish. Where do you find your fresh-baked French bread? Pre-sliced? And how do you keep it fresh?

Hello Sandra :=)

Now that is the way to eat your oats. The mixture of maple syrup, peanut butter, Rasins. oats and cinnamon, I'm sure this mixture spread on anything would be good. Topping for stewed apple or yogurt mixed with fruit, spread on French bread of course, but now I'm thinking on sliced banana or rice pudding. I sure Beu loved his treat. It does look delish.

I LOVE OATMEAL! Any kind - but I never thought of putting it on peanut butter on my toast. Thanks.
IBS loves French Bread? Why?

I'm not in to oatmeal that much, but I loved the oatmeal that was made when we did our mission trips in Mexico.
The kids called it "Crack"...really sweet but full of vitamins which carried the kiddos throughout the day while they did the hard work of building houses and sports with the kids.
The concoction on your french bread sounds really good too.

Sounds decadently yummy. I need to pass your strategy on to Hubby, my resident chef. We have oatmeal in the pantry that we seem to have forgotten. We need to eat it up. Waste not, want not!

Now this sounds so good though I don't have a Ninja oven. Thanks for the shout-out :) I was going to fix myself a bowl of oatmeal this morning for breakfast but haven't eaten anything yet. Not that hungry today which is a shocker, lol!

I cook quick cooking steel cut oats a lot. I don't add sugar, but mix it with a lot of cinnamon and raisins and let it sit for a while. It's a sweet treat.
