In 1991, BI (before internet) I painted myself silly on Ceramics.
Michael the Archangel is 18 inches tall, with a 14-inch wingspan.
My Warrior Angel is HUGE and lives on my trunk in the living room.
I took him as he is, in a gray wash paint.
Ink Pen Insta-toon
Impressionist Insta-toon
When I saw the results, I Googled impressionism art and the artists and looked at their paintings and thought, this really doesn't look like any of these.
I decided to try the Monet Art that hides pictures in pictures and above and below are my creations.
Not satisfied I snapped about 30 sections of the angel.
I google searched What makes an expressionist painting?
Highly intense
and non-naturalistic,
brushwork typically free
and paint application generous
and highly textured. Emotional, Mystical
NOT Bad for a MAD Snapper with an iPhone!
Can you picture this on a canvas measuring 10 x 8 feet?
that is the size of paintings at Ringling Art Museum.
How much will that big canvas cost?
How will I get it printed on that size canvas?
Maybe Coming Soon to an Art Museum Near you!
Above is my favorite, I think I may have bought him for the sandal/boots on his feet.
I love boots and shoes and sandals and WARRIORS!

Wow,you did amazing! My fav is the ink pen, and the one after it. So what color was it when you bought it and did you paint it, and if so, what color?
Fun! I like the 6th photo down. It is a great figurine.
to have st. michael is great... specially in this times... and the effects are fab!!!
You are definitely up there with the great artists of the world. These belong in a gallery.
Hello,
I like your statue of Michael the Archangel. I like you last series of photos, with the expressionist style. Take care, have a wonderful weekend.
Sandra, this is extraordinary!! You did good!!
Is it just us or does the original appear to be looking up and the instatoon versions look down?
We are however very impressed by the expressionist versions - love the colours, and like best the close-up n the face. xxx Mr T & F

You know what I noticed? You took a full picture photo and then each one you took less and less of it yet more and more of the fine art showed up. Does that make sense?
I didn't know you were into ceramics! Michael's sure a splendid-looking warrior.
My favs are the first and last two. Maybe not as large as Ringling, but ya. He'd look great on a canvas.
I do really love that final one best of all.
The strength and majestic nature of the ceramic statue and your treatment is perfect.
I love the detail of the feet and sandals too.
I think you need to get back into the ceramics and painting. Love it.
Today I am back at Lynne's. At least its not raining but far too cold to sit outside. Praying this will be a good day for both of us.

Very artistic. You are good at using your phone and editing programs.
Sorry I have been by a lot. Found out this week that I have Covid. Doing okay, just tired a lot.
I love that expressionist style. It's powerful. 👍❤️
