Rainbow Guessing Game

guess what this is?  answer below
FOR

Amazon delivered this package, left it on the bench on front porch after we went to bed.
Next AM saw email that it was delivered, they email, do not knock.
A sore point is they don't knock. I mean who checks email more than a couple times of day.
If they knocked Sir Beau, the Alarm Barker would have let me know and I could have brought it in.
Any Whoooo back from the run the rabbit down the rabbit hole reporting,
The box was glowing with colors when I turned on the porch light.
I thought what the heck is THIS?
They put anything that has batteries in it, in a special box now. They used to just put that big sticker you see on the bottom, on the brown box. the stickers say federal law says batteries must carry a warning and that they are not allowed on Passenger Planes.
What was inside that Big Bright Rainbow Box?
Bob's 60 hearing aid batteries!!!!
a tiny 3 by 4 box. isnide this boxe which could hold two shoeboxes.
Batter Warning Box is what it is.
NOW the big question is, what about people with PHONES? or Wearing Hear Aids riding on planes.
What about laptops with batteries on planes.

I think it is just loose batteries that are not allowed on planes for fear of idiots rigging some kind of device that batteries could activate. Love the rainbow colored package but it is overkill for what was inside. xo Diana

That's crazy! But not unusual, I'm afraid.

I think it's just lithium batteries.

I didn't know that about batteries. It drives me crazy when they use boxes way bigger than necessary for what they're shipping

Hello,

It is a colorful box. I get emails from Amazon too, or my USPS letting me know I had a delivery. I had to pack my camera batteries separate in my airline check on, they have to go through security separately too. Recently a fire was started from two batteries rubbing together on an airplane, that is scary. Take care, enjoy your day!

I don't order on line, except for books, so I don't have this issue, but hearing aid batteries are not problem on an aeroplane. I am pretty sure it is only loose batteries that are subject to regulations.

I get the huge boxes for really small items...such a waste in so many ways.

It does seem silly that such a large box was used for such a small item and the same has happened to us. As for people with hearing aid, batteries, phones on planes I think David G has the answer.

Words fail us. Hearing aid batteries in a box that size! Couldn't they have a brightly coloured padded envelope that would fit through the letter slot? What goes through the minds of some people (if indeed anything does)? And we hear you on that email thing.... F was home one day a parcel was delivered. She had provided delivery instructions for in case she wasn't home, but the courier had damaged the package to sneaked it into the 'safe place', and emailed later to say it had been delivered. Everyone one want a 'review' these days.... so they got one they probably won't publish. xxx Mr T

Hello Sandra :=)
I have never had this problem. Could you use the shoe sized box to keep a pair of your shoes?

That was interesting - we must never order anything with batteries in it - all though I have ordered batteries themselves from Amazon, but not recently.

I tried to order a pack of 4 mace sprays. I carry on on my keyring when I walk. Evidently they are not allowed to ship that many at one time due to the content of the package.
Those two were in a large box too with lots of bubble wrap.
No amazon does not knock here they send an email. The latest delivery I've had is about 8:30. I stay up til 10...I know you don't :-)!!!!

Well, that's a colorful box which I'm sure you are going to find a use for..(besides blog fodder, haha).
I believe some of the comments are correct about loose batteries.
Crazy times we live in.

They ring the bell AND email us here....I kinda wish they would only email us. Sunny will bark for a good 10 minutes after the doorbell has been rung BOL!

It is only Lithium batteries that can't go in the passenger section of airplanes, I do believe the can go in the cargo section(I always pack my camera batteries).

I think it is just the batteries on carry-ons, and that are packed away that they worry about. The box looks like something from The Wizard Of Oz!! A colorful box with a black & white rainbow, rather than the other way around!

I agree with you. My instructions on Amazon is to ring the doorbell. I only give a thumbs up on the delivery when they ring the doorbell. They should never deliver during the night. That's interesting about the batteries in the bright box. Also I am usually upset with their packing skills at Amazon and other places too. That's an interesting questions you have.

I'm not sure if you have this option. When we buy online usually there's a spot for delivery instructions. Or, place a note on the door that reads: Please ring doorbell to let me know the box is here.

Other than that, Tim has gotten text images on his phone with a picture of the delivery.

Then some get email on their phone with notifications that way.

Not sure if any of those help. Tossing them out there!

Batteries are in electric cars and I wonder how in future years fires will be far more prevalent. Getting rid of one fuel to create less pollution and using batteries seems like a bad solution.
