I found this heart thingy in the kitchen drawer. No idea what it is or where it came from.
Bob said since he doesn't know what it is, he would know if he put it there, I had to have put it there and should know what it is.
Anyone recognize it?
OOPS! misfire |
I took the photo below because I was using the pencil with eraser to add the new Ohio neigbors in my phone book that lives by the PHONE!
I think it is a great idea that I came up with when we moved in this house 33 years ago.
As I learned the names of neighbors over the years, I add them UNDER the Letter N page.
N for NEIGHBORS.
I did this because I would add the neighbor's name as I met them, phone if I had it and then forget their last name and not be able to find them.
The Page Says
Neighbors
Name, number, 2nd Story house back yard left
Name, number, backyard right
Name, number side to the west
Name, number side to the east
Name, number yellow house
I use pencil and when they move, I erase if I never want to talk to them again and add the next person in that house
PS! to add the new neighbors that moved in with the 3 pitbulls, I erased the person that was there last,
It said Jimmy and cell number, homeless guy camping in rental that refuses to move out
PSSS He was one of the nicest that ever lived there, but he suffered from my Malady of Talking to Much and was even worse than MOI!
PSS 87th time.... we love Lucy, Susy and Lucky the pit bulls and the neighbors are great. YAY

That's a great way of saving your neighbors phone numbers! I'm curious about that thing you found in a drawer. I hope someone knows what it's for.
PS That heart thingy looks as if it fits into something so you can turn it on or off. But who knows? I hope someone does.
F's grandfather would have called the mystery object a wigwam for a goose's bridle. There is a website (US) where you can post photos of mstery objects and people try to work out what they are. If we rediscover it F will send the link to you. Xxx Mr T
our neighbors have no names, they are the man with the nose, the guy with the dachshund, they guy who owns whiskey (the yorki), the family with the damaged gate, those with the red car, the woman from yellow house or the man with the jacket. we hope that no one buys a new car or paints the house in a different color... then our complete data system is ruined...
...a wick dipper

Hello Sandra :=)
You are very well organised, and it's a good system. I'm glad your new neighbours are nice people, and their dogs are friendly.
Not a clue what that thingamajig is.
That's a clever idea for the phone book. The neighbors around here don't talk much and since I don't either I don't know most of their names.

Yup, I see Anni beat me to it... you use the base of the hook to fold over the burning wick and extinguish without smoking, then with the hook, fish the wick up again before it seals, ready for the next burning session... YAM xx
That is a very interesting thingamagig.
A few years ago I cleaned out all my kitchen drawers.
I had so many thingamagigs that I guessed were prizes I won at all the thousands of Tupperware parties I attended in the 1980's. Unfortunately I had no clue about their purposes.
Hugs Cecilia
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see Hootin'Anni gave us the answer
I was going to suggest you use the lens app on your phone to identify that 'thing' -- but I see Anni beat me to it! After you introduced us to it (lens) you wouldn't believe how many times I've used it.
Love the idea of N-for-Neighbors! Unfortunately, we've not lived anywhere for any length of time.
I am glad you know your neighbors - good way of remembering them. Not the same in an apartment but we have met two people - friends not exactly. lol
What an interesting thingamajig, I'm glad you got a couple of people who know what it is...I had no idea lol!
Out of six apartments in my entrance (including my own) I haven't got a clue who lives in three of them...
I have no idea what that is.
That is nice that you keep the names of your neighbors. I don't know any of mine!
Yay...so glad you have some good neighbors and you like the "people" too..haha
You have a great system for contacts too.
The thingy looks kind of like a rug beater but probably too small.
Maybe its a hook of some sort.
I dunno!!
Sue
That is a great idea! People come and go here too. I know my immediate neighbors who are all friendly but it is basically a quiet neighborhood.
Funny thing with neighbors...we used to know all on our block and even some on neighboring blocks..could call or go talk to them...there was one that just did not neighbor with anyone .
Now we still have two or three of the old neighbors...and are friends with one or two of the newer. But dint know several of them.
We do have a few neighbors that need to be erased too!
