Coffee! My lifeblood?? part 1

Last Saturday AM Bob took his first sip of coffee and said Coffee Tastes Terrible. I agreed after taking a sip of his. The pot needs cleaning.
Clean Cycle Set! 2 hours later
while washing the aluminum pot, I noticed the coating inside the bottom was flaking off.
Scrubbed and useable, I added Coffee Pot to my Saturday Shopping List.
Taste Test said old pot was good to go.
Did not buy the new pot.
Thursday, I was the first to say, ugh, coffee taste terrible, we do need new pot.
Pot is flaking once again.
Walmart Opens at 6 AM, I left at 5:50, home by 6:15 and a new pot dripping while I tossed the old pot in the trash can.
the last time I bought, I went medium priced with the Black and Decker below, $79. this time I went with El cheapo $27.99 Mr. Coffee.
the reason?
I looked for a thermal carafe, could not find one. The real reason is I hated the pot from the day i plugged it in.
Who needs the headaches every time the power even blinked off and back on.
The thing was smarter than me from the get-go and I said HBO words every time I had to reset it.
I thought I would like not seeing through the pot. I did not.
to be continued
It went off in the Friday Trash Container. Good Riddance and Friday AM coffee was great

A thermal pot is a great idea. Wait, you threw the new pot in the trash, or the old one?

Buying a "simple" coffee pot these days is not easy. We recently bought a new Proctor Silex and within a few week the water started pouring right through the bottom. The store gave us another one - so far, so good.

Ah. One problem I do not have, as I don't drink coffee at all... ;-)

Wow, look how your phone's captured that condensation on the glass pot!
I've never had a thermal carafe, but your description's given me the willies. Our Keurig is still working, but definitely showing signs of old age and needs replaced. Trouble is, Tom taken a liking to one kind of coffee and me, another. Oh, and we keep a 3rd flavor for when Troy and Lois come over. At this point, I doubt either one of us is willing to compromise. Spoiled much?

Bottoms up!

Coffee is my favorite thing about getting up.
I have a regular glass carafe for brewing. After if is brewed, I pour it in a thermal carafe.

Sometimes Cheaper is definitely better.
I use my Mr. Coffee see through pot and it works just fine for me. I drink coffee and Dave drinks tea..So It's ALL About Me !!
Love the way you spin a tale.

Fingers crossed for you! I don't drink coffee or tea, so I haven't looked at coffee pots in years.

Glad you found something you liked. I have a small one. I'm the only one who likes coffee, as hubby does not drink it, nor tea. The pot holds enough for me to have a couple of cups and come to think of it, I haven't had mine yet, which is unusual. Heading to the coffee pot right now :)

I didn't know that coffee pots could go bad. Glad you were able to find a new one you liked.
