Chatty Cathy meets Chatty Carl

The Saturday I got paid for talking! 😉😉
Standing at the pump, I slid the debit card in the slot, and realized I was standing face to face with a much younger than me man.
He said, good morning.
I said good morning. We both smiled.
While pumping gas face to face,
He said, Got any big plans for today? (Saturday, 6 AM, Walmart)

I replied, I sure do, pump gas, go inside the store, buy food for the week go home put up the food, walk the dog. That's It!

He stared at me for a second, and reaching inside the back of his pickup truck, produced with a flourish the plant above.
He said, while holding out the plant, how would you like a plant? as I took the plant, I said Thank you, it's beautiful and it is NOT a poinsettia. he laughed, I laughed.
He said, I am a landscaper, yesterday I went to a place out east, and they had drained a pond of all the water because the county kept giving them warnings because they were not doing mosquito control in their pond. they drained it and I made a garden, planted it full of bushes and trees and flowers. This was left over.

When I told bob this story, he said, do you TALK to everybody???
Now I ask you, what do you think my answer was?
4 sides are all different, I also SNAP PHOTOS

IF YOU ARE NOT TOO EXHAUSTED FROM ALL THESE WORDS THERE IS BREAKING NEWS ON BEAUS BLOG YOU  MIGHT WANT TO KNOW. ignore this if you follow both blogs please

What a nice person to give you that beautiful plant. You probably made his day by being friendly.

we like the plant... we got one too but it grew in a weird way... or maybe the black thumbs of our mama did the tricky trick?

Well obviously talking to strangers pays off for you. What a pretty plant and what a sweet thing for that guy to do.

Sometimes encounters with strangers can have the very best endings. This one proves the point.

What a gorgeous Begonia! And what a gorgeous heart that young fellow had to brighten your day like that... and I hope there are not too many lingering repercussions from that tumble! YAM xx

First, I just read Beau's blog post, but usually don't comment there, so will comment here. Accidents happen, but so glad to read that you and Bob were both OK after those incidents and that the hearing aids were too.

The plant is lovely and how wonderful that you were gifted with it just for being chatty but also friendly.

What a wonderful story....
As Daddy used to say Mama and I would talk to a telephone post and if it didn't reply we'd talk for it.
I love this and what a pretty piece of nature

Your experience sure restores my (tenuous) faith in the goodness of humans! Not only did he put a smile on your face, but I'd bet anything your chat left a smile on his heart.

That's a great story and lovely that he gave you the flowers.
I talk to people everywhere too. And, often they come up to me
and ask me where things are. Doesn't matter what I'm wearing,
or what store I'm in. I very, very often get asked where things
are. Always cracks me up!
