After I dragged home the three palms found on the curb trash pile, I dragged out 6 empty pots from various places and sat them there to await what ever I chose to fill them with.
I love this pony tail palm but will not let it know that because it might Jynx It.. It prefers full sun all the time, but will grow well with 6 hours of sun, and will even grow inside, but without sun it grows really slow.
I hit Home depot Garden Shop at 7 am, hoping to miss the worst of our heat wave but while looking for what I wanted and the best price and bang for my few bucks, the sweat was running in my eyes and I could hardly see the show going on. The flowers were full of small birds. They were flying between the aisles at my knee levels and twittering and singing. I did stop and drip sweat while I smiled at them.

You got an expensive plant for free! Waiting for the rest of the story...
I love this ongoing story, but I'm so sorry about the heat! Take care!
Glad you got some inspiration from the free plants and looking forward to seeing more photos! :)
Wow, your curbside ponytail palm ended up being quite a bargain. Filling all those pots does sound like a big job. I look forward to seeing it all when you're finished.

I am fond of foliage plants. In terms of care, I always had more success with them than flowers. Well done you 👍 YAM xx
Hello,
Your Ponytail plant was a great find, it is expensive even on sale.
I have to google Mexican Heather, when we were in Lakeland we had a Mexican Petunia, it was pretty. Take care and stay cool! Have a great weekend.
Yep, stay out of that hot sun. Maybe you can find some strong young teenager to fill those pots for you.
Ugh, I remember heat like that when living in Central Florida. Sometimes it's like that here but usually in August-September when it's really nasty for a few days. I feel for ya. Maybe the plants can wait until Fall for replanting. Stay cool. 💙
The heat is not fun.. when it is that hot that early.
Maybe if you did a little each day? It's hot here too...I can't do a lot at one time, even in the mornings...
hugs

I like the ponytail too... you are the ultimate in Reuse renew recycle. Just a wee bit of TLC. They are lovely adornments for you and the B's

I can just visualize you there, wandering around the Garden Shop and smiling at the birds. (They always seem so full of joy, I feel guilty for complaining.)
Using the tree stump as a stage is brilliant!
They'll be fine, so please don't stay out in that heat too long.
Free is such a bargain these days!
WOW, yes, you did get a good freebie there! We always see birds in the garden center places too.
You sound very busy with your new project. Enjoy! So sorry about the weather. We have been hitting around 100 degrees but we certainly don't have your humidity.
Cool plants/planters/stump...But gotta start early in the morning these days to get anything done outside, or wait until almost dark and hope the mosquitoes don't carry you away. Yep, I know, and that's why I don't do gardening in the summer, and not much more in the spring or fall, but that is the only time I will attempt it. LOL. I do hope your new plants will thrive! We will all be cheering them on.
Wow you sure do know how to find things - that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you got a super bargain with your curbside pony tail. Hope it enjoys life with Madsnapper.
